The myth that I'm looking to solve is that " Autoflowers don't make extractions as well as feminized photo period plants." I have heard this a couple of times in different videos and on different posts i have read about making rosin. Myself I'm a pretty new grower and don't have much experience with making different extractions other than rosin so my knowledge is limited. I would love to hear what other people think about the topic.

Total myth.
Autoflowers are the future of cannabis.
There is financial benefit to breeders who have no (or inferior) autos to have this myth spread.

I think they may be referring to a difference in THC production between auto-flower and photo-period plants of the same strain. It was (and may be still) true that in general auto-flower variants did not produce THC in as high a percentage as their photo-period sisters. A legacy effect from the ruderalis genetics.

Other than that, it sounds like nonsense to me.

Seeing some of the tests coming in from "certian" auto breeders hitting 28% thc... I'd say that one's not long for the myth list either...
Like I said, I wasn't sure if the delta in THC production was still an issue. Though it would explain how the myth got started....

Have you tried autos?
Unsure if that was directed at me, but just in case:

Yes. I am just finishing my first grow. If autos are really approaching the same THC production as their photo-period counterparts, I welcome this news with enthusiasm, as autos are probably all I will ever grow.

That said, I can assure you that for a good long while, the ruderralis genetics had a negative impact on THC levels within a strain. I still consider it a valid tradeoff given the time to harvest.

I am curious as to who "they" are and would welcome a discussion here.
I left it as "they" cause there are more than 1 reputable breeder around, but have seen the lab results for a customer grown mephisto Sour Crack that hit 28%. It was on instagram.
