Hey guys,
Im in need of a bit of advice, and was wondering whether anyone could help?
This is my first grow, and im growing two autoflower red dwarfs. They have just reached their 5 week today since they sprouted, and look like their doing fine. Flowers are starting to form on both plants.
However as I have gone to feed them today I have noticed that roots are showing from both bottoms of the pots. One plant is in a smallish pot, the pot is around only 15cm tall. and the other plant is in a bigger pot which is 26cm tall.

I am unsure what to do? will trimming the roots at the bottom be ok? because i really don't want to have to repot them. And since they are starting to flower should I start giving them just biobloom and stop the biogrow nutes?
Also should I switch my light to the red spectrum already?

Both plants are around 20 cm tall, and im just abit unsure where to go from here as its my first time and all. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks people. Pictures are included.

Hi, and welcome.

You can buy a membrain sheet to go in the bottom of your pots so the roots don't come through but let's through water. If you can get some in time you might be able to tape some round the bottom to contain the roots.
You can trim roots but I think it would stres the plant a bit, and as they're small you prob don't want to do that.

What light you using? Looks like cfl. I would change to the warm (red) bulb now as they're flowering. And yes you can start the bloom nutes if that's how big you want them. I would lower from the lights a bit as they look to be quite close. They should be three or four inches away really.
Looking good so far, good luck with the next 4-5 weeks

Thanks very much for you're feedback lostboy.
Yes I am using CFL lights, I read somewhere that they like a lot of light when flowering so would it be any good to put the red bulb in and keep the blue spectrum one on them as well? I have another e40 hanger on its way so that I can use to bulbs simultaneously.
Regarding the roots, if i left them like that (coming through the bottom) would it cause any damage to the plant or would they be ok during the budding phase?
Thanks again for the reply it helps to here another opinion.
