Sup all....Ok I used to get a bag of dirt mix that is now discontinued in my area so I now have to use something new and need some help with.. so first my Mix before used to be direct from the bag(40-50% peat, Composted Bark, Vermiculite, Perlite, Lime, and fertilizer- feather meal, bone meal, & chlinoptilolite.) Which I added the following Worm Castings, Composted Manure, D.E., more Perlite & Vermiculite. which I kept the ph to 6.5 to 6.8..

Now that I cant get the bag mix anymore which made my overall mix easy to make as I did it many times I have to use this..

Th-1 All Purpose Prefessional Growing Mix
this bale/bag contains the following (Canadaina Sphagnum Peat 81.25%, Perlite 13.75%, Vermiculite 5%, Calcitic & Dolomitic Lime, and wetting agent.
this is supposed to be Soilless. so I believe I need the ph to be around 5.8. Here is a link to the soil that I have......

Ok so my question is if I use this alone what ph should I keep it at?...
I want to add worm castings for sure possibly composted manure and maybe a lil potting soil.. if I do this I should try to keep the ph to 6.5 right? With the worm cast will his be soil or soiless?
Should I add a lil more limestone to the mix?
Just noticed that Promix looks similiar to this so maybe some pro mix users can help with this a bit..
Should I use this like people use Promix? (I never used promix before)

Here are my supplies at the moment
Worm castings
Composted manure bagged
Potting soil
Th-1
Bone meal
Blood meal
Bat guano 3 types
Mycos
Perlite
Vermiculite
D.E.
as far as stuff I usually add to my soil mix..
think I would rather make teas with the meals n guano this go around then add to soil.

Yes, that mix is almost exactly like Pro Mix BX and would be considered a semi soil less mix. The only difference I see is that Pro Mix already contains myco. Without any amendments it should be great for seed starting. Once you start adding in your amendments it would be consider a soil mixture. I would treat it the same as Pro Mix and run your pH around 6.2 - 6.4. Yes, once you start adding amendments you will need to add some additional perlite and lime. I would suggest adding 1/3 perlite to your amendments. So if you added a gallon of worm castings and manure, add 1/3 gallon perlite.

Looking at their web site, it looks like their TH-6 product is very similar to Pro Mix HP. I would suggest the TH-1 for seedlings and for final pots under high heat lights like HPS and the TH-6 for low heat lights like CFLs, T5s or LEDs. The TH-1 will hold a bit more moisture than the TH-6 so better in high heat situations.

Thnx Muddy..I'm doin a ph test now on it one pot plain w/extra perlite and another with th1 & worm casting and perlite to check the ph..I will retest it today or tomorrow. I can't get the th6 here just the 1. Thinking I will just run th1 with worm cast n perlite I won't add the extra compost manure or meals..just make teas and nutes. My pots will be under LED temp here is 85 daytime. Mid 70s night..

Sounds like a plan. Good luck!
