New Grower need help

not sure about any soil other then what I use because I have never used anything else. If you read around I'm sure you can find the answer you are looking for.

next time

On my next grow I'm goin to use fox farm forest sea and my own soil mix with auto pounder and more lights

Light warrior for seedlings, I used to use ocean farm and than would take a couple of fistfuls out after filling container and put in light warrior and place seed/seedling in mound of light warrior... wish you great luck with your grow... Sending a big karma cloud of a good grow your way my friend.

Every time I get a bag of fox farm it's loaded with fungus gnats so I started mixing my own dirt and haven't had a problem with pests since.

Yeah, i'm also a new grower, but have done ALOT of reading. Looks like you need stronger lights (maybe the CFL you were talking about) and to keep it real close. I use roots organic myself, but start the seedlings in rapid rooters and then plant before the roots break the rooters (less shock from what I hear). Also since your lights are lacking in power at the moment, I'd move them as close as possible and go on a 20/4 schedule so they don't stretch as much.

If you're gonna go fox farm, I suggest purchasing both the regular Ocean Forest and the Light Warrior. Start the seedlings off in the light warrior up top and maybe Ocean Forest towards the bottom, if I had to guess maybe 3/4 to 1/4. Make sure to flush the soil with PHd water and measure the run off before you plant. Better to go light, then run hot. You can make up with nutes.

There are alot of other factors you need to consider as well, i.e. temperature, etc... if one doesn't bite ya, another will.

Good luck! :)

Dictates right dude, but one thing I would say is you could start with the light in a solo cup, cut out the bottom, and then dig a small hole in the main pot filled with the of so you can put the cup into it and anchor it or at least Im 90 percent sure thats how its done. Dont do it myself but if you look around youll find plenty of threads with people doing that

I use Happy frog,
all the way through, but I mainly grow photo strains. I know Ocean forest burns my clones, so I switched to Happy Frog. Never had a problem since.
I also use Roots Organic, but it is not always available locally.

Hey bud,

Welcome to the site, glad to have ya here.. hopefully we can get you some kind of bud before you move.

Switch to tap water and let it sit out 24 hours first & add epsom salts to it - you need some magnesium and hopefully your tap has some calcium.. bottled water is typically distilled, has nothing in it.. 1 tablespoon Epsoms per gallon.

Also get some Miracle Grow Quick Start (4-8-4) and reduce the directions dosage to half strength.. if it says 1 dosing cap per gallon, use a half cap per gallon. Whether it's pH lock out or not (it probably is), your plant is deficient in Phosphorous.

Bring your lights closer, if they're all flouros - bring them within 2 inches of the plant..

Let the soil dry up real good before you water again, your plants look a little over watered.
