Lighting new GN Units

Normally I would agree but, HOW long have they been promising this? I have no doubt that their intentions are good, but their execution of their plan seems to be very poorly though out, hanging the future of their company on a single, experimental product thats been plagued with setbacks since the day it was announced, when they had an excellent product they could have continued to sell is very poor business sense IMO.

I'm not trying to knock them, just raising a legitimate question about their approach to this. This to me is a prime example of not applying the 6 Ps: Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.....

To make a fair reply I would have to know the exact reasons why they stopped selling Chinese lights and why there have been delays so I won't. What I will say is if people didn't have the vision and the bottle to take on projects like this 'experimental product' we would all be growing under the sun.

Exciting Times! :)

I'd personally rather have some gossip than no gossip! :coffee2:
Then again i just like to gossip.

And I would have thought we'd all rather have a light that took a bit longer to arrive and was TOTALLY AWESOME rather than a light that could be punted out and be GREAT! :)

(I heard it's going to be brighter than the sun .... but it may be gossip .... Shhhhhhh)

:)

Gossip is for you girls Blue. Us guys prefer something more manly like shooting the shite or something like that.

Interesting new avatar ya got there girl

maybe just maybe they want to get their own back on the so called cheap copies from china ? me thinks gn is waiting on a new model from china to come out, then they will turn the tables on them and sell a british made chinease copy at inflated prices.but then again im probably wrong.I am wrong arnt I ?

I doubt the development of this light was based on revenge bro and I can tell you for sure is not a copy...it will be copied but it's not a copy lol.

Wish they had kept the old units available I would have bought two ms004s by now and all that extra money could go towards better parts or more staff to stop the delays and make a better product

I think thats probably the main reason for being made in the uk rather then China, obviously if its good it will be copied and the Chinese are experts at copying so why give them the plans, someone will actually have to buy one and study it to copy it. If everyone did that rather then getting cheap labour it would possibly pay to actually invent something new, all good to the consumer in the long run.

But then I probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about

I don't question either their motives or their product. But Karma and wishful thinking isn't taught in Business 101. So, unless they were making an exorbitant profit on the previous light, they've borrowed themselves close to ruin if they are truly doing their own R&D. So explain to me how you run a business that is no longer selling a product? Or did I misread that here somewhere? And if correct, has anyone EVER heard of a business doing that? Unless they lost their supply chain and even then that leaves a lot of questions.

I do wish them great success, and that owners of the new units find they have a great product. Myself, I'd wait 6 months or so to see if they are going to survive, because if they don't, you know what your warranty is worth.........
