Hello, I'm new at this, and despite my best efforts at researching, I'm not sure how to gauge the progress of my plant.
It's approaching day 60, and my question is are these buds going to open and get bigger, or are these as big as they get and I should begin the countdown to harvest?

Thanks, any and all advice is much appreciated.

Hi there Hobolaw and a warm welcome to AFN.

Thats one wierd looking plant u got there, nice but wierd looking.

More experienced grower will soon answer your question.

Once again, welcome.

Its looking like that going to be about it, especially considering the amount of orange pistils. As to why it happened, I'll leave that to an AF expert.

Yeah, it looks like it was stretching for light and maybe too much N. Just a guess without knowing more.

Please post more pictures from further away please - at first looks your plant looks superb and ahead of mine which is 68 days old so I think you are in for some killer bud bud it should take another 6 weeks for them to fatten up and ripen - looks like your first cure should be ready for testing on Xmas and a second round cure of even more mellow on New Year's - with patience the amount of bud will quadruple at least. Note lighting on picture is not good and makes pistols look very dark so better pictures with better lighting will help the real pros tell you more accurately than newbie me

welcome to AFN hobolaw!!..:D...looks like you have a low calyxs to branch ratio plant on your hands there...usually do to being an unstable strain...so your probably not going to get much more bud production from her......i had a DP Auto Blueberry do the samething...i ended up just using her as hash...:D...the good thing is....you can always have another grow brotha!!!...:D...have a looksey around the site and enjoy my friend!!....:smokebuds:

hi there i'm going to tell you exaclty what happened to that girl, also i have had that same thing happen to one of my Afghan Kush Ryder from World of Seeds the last grow that i did. Airy, loose buds are caused by either a "lack of light", "high temps during their growth period", or by "lack of nutrients", and/or by all 3 of these factors put together! hope this all helps you. Also the answer is NO, to your question about will it get bigger or open up...

Happy Farming!

Sorry for the lack if photos everyone, I was in a rush and could only get one. Thank you all very very much. Good to know, and I'm starting anew soon. @sticky I think a high temp early on was the problem.
I can put up some more photos later this evening if it helps, but based on the replies, I think I'm probably best off taking her down for some concentrates or foodies.

In regard to what Goidian had said, if I were to let the plant continue to live for another 60 days or so, would the current buds just die off, or would they build upon themselves? My concern is letting them continue to grow would wreck THC content or other compound breakdowns.
Any thoughts about letting them go?
