New Grower New Grower in Need of Help

I tried one of those one time, I didn't leave though I just used it. It kind of depends on how aerated the soil is to be honest. What they do is as the soil dries it will allow water to escape from the bulb. You don't want constant moisture in your soil though, it's really not the best way to grow in soil. Honestly, in my opinion, with soil you could pull off a three day stretch. Let them dry out now and give them a real good watering right before you leave. They should be mostly dry by the end of day two and ready for a new watering when you return.

I guess I'm still figuring this whole watering system out. I went and looked today and they were very dry. Plants started to go down again but I did as before and they picked right up. So I either use the ceramic thingy or water it Friday morning when I leave and hope for the best.

Decisions decisions...

Had a nice trip! Fun and blood shot eyes all around!!

Plants made out ok. The smaller of the two did very well while the taller one was somewhat limp. not as bad as the last time. A good watering has already shown improvement.

I think I'll see what I can find on and ebb/flow thingy for the future. Sure would solve watering while your gone issue.

So I make some adjustments to my new box. Added mylar to all sides and a couple of power strips for more lights. Hopefully it helps!

The second photo is a leaf with spots. There are more of them than one but only o the taller plant. They both have gotten the same treatment from day one. I'm looking up on what it could be now. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

So I made a 1/2 gallon of nutes and added some magical. pH 6.5. I gave a feeding at 1200 today. I just looked. The spots seem smaller and plants happier. Yeah! For the moment...

I'm considering using my new air pots as a hydro setup. Put air pot in another bucket. A 3rd bucket would hold water etc. a pump and timer. Anything else? Recommendations?

Looking good! As for the spots, check under the leaves for critters if you think any got inside but sometimes just a few drops of water can magnify the light and burn some sopts on a leaf.

I did see some bugs a few weeks ago. I got some spray and hot shot. Haven't seen any since. I think it may have been the magic cal that helped this time. Thx!

Fan/filter question - I have a duct fan (80cfm) connected to a 4" carbon filter. Approx. box dimension are 3'X2'X6' = 36CF. I still have an odor in my area. The door is sealed fairly well. The fan/filter is above the light. Do I need a bigger fan? I thought the filter would kill all the smell.

Welcome mate...

My tent is a bit smaller than your space and the exhaust fan I am running is a 6in @240cfm into a 6in carbon filter rated for 400cfm. Even that can't stop some smell from getting out. I exhaust room air outside with a small (70cfm) bathroom exhaust fan through my dryer vent.
