New Grower New grower NEED HELP PLEASE

Hi AutoWanKenobi here,


I'm new to all this, I've done so much research that I'm starting to confuse myself... Now I don't know where to start. What I would like from anyone who considers them self a expect is help. I need to all to start with; mainly lights, nutrients, soil, and timing. I need to know what's better, to grow outdoor with autos or indoor... Also I'm into big yields, and sativa strains mainly, so if you have any auto seed suggestions please let me know and list where I can get it.


On another note, I'm glad to join the community, and so excited to be apart of such a revolution.

Well first things first, is time a constraint? meaning you only have 60 or 70 days etc.

If your looking for big yields and time and weather isnt a problem, then sativa outdoors should give you the greatest yeild but the will get much larger that indoors, BUT indoors will have more potency and still pretty good yield as long as you do your part.

Most experienced growers will tell you, LESS IS MORE!. Meaning you dont tech need a entire fricking nute line for your girls. They call it Weed for a reason . But the essentials from a reputable company will be a good bench mark to start from and you can venture out when you get a few grows under your belt. I.e. Grow,Bloom, mirco stim. , Cal-mag is always good JIC, but that is following K.I.S.S. (Keep It Stupid Simple)
and start at 1/3 -1/4 strength auto dont need that much, but some strains are heavy feeders.

Soil same thing, just stick to reputable companies at first like, Roots organic, Bio-Bizz, Pro-mix, or sunshine mix. All depending on availability in your area.

Lights are always personal choice, which some grower all swear by for their own personal preferences. Each has their own merrits. I personally went indoors and LED root. But if you do LED it would be very wise to keep cal-mag in your arsenal.

Not really sure what you mean by timing, try looking at Muddy's Beginners guide in the new grower section for a play by play or your growth cycle

welcome to AFN my young Jedi!! I would go indoors being you can control most aspects of your environment and problems. Outdoors is a very different story. Lights, soil, pots and soil/soilless medium is all things you need to choose. hydro too. You have alot of decisions to make. Light schedule will be 20 on and 4 off. Timing as such will be determined on your method and plants.
Seeds, I would recommend you check out the Attitude Seed bank they have great descriptions on their stuff. Auto fem beans are what I would recommend. I'll throw u a few links for your viewing pleasure...

Welcome friend.

Pop over to the new growers forum and chat away with peeps there. You can over do the research bit. I know I was there once myself.
First decide your budget. Then lights. Then medium, nutes etc When you have a plan, run it by the guys here and we can take it from there.

We can't tell you what to do, but can advise on your prefered plan.

WOW! I wasn't expecting to get anyone to respond but thank you all, I like the keep it simple stupid rule, I'm hella excited to get started, I have a real active who's a gardener so most of my supplies I'll swipe from her lol.

I haven't decided on what lights I'll use yet but, I think I'll have that down soon, nutes as well (open for suggestions).

as far as seeds, I went searching last night and after looking and reading up on of 160 different seeds I've decided to go with, bio diesel mass, Vertigo, and Cali haze, all are autos of course and feminized. I'll leave the links where I'm getting them from. You guys should look at them, tell me what you think.
