Also if your using coco I like to do a nice flush right before she flowers to reset the medium. Whatever the amount of water you use to feed say 1 gallon for example times it by 3. So you would flush with 3 gallons of ph'd straight water. This helps push out any salt or nutrient build-up. The best wayg to see if you need a flush and if the flush got everything out is to test your runoff for both ph and ppm. A tds meter is a very inexpensive tool that makes a very big difference. I use mine everyday.

No tap water that is pretty hard. I sit out buckets and a layer forms at the surface of hard water I think at least. Yes I’ll wait till after the stretch. Thanks again!

You on a well or city water? I'm on well water and my ppm was around 300ppm and always ended up causing me issues down the road with nutrient lockout. The best thing I ever did was buy a RO system. It cost me 100 bucks but my water is perfect and I use advanced nutrients ph perfect sensi grow and bloom and never have to worry about ph. Just wish I did it before I bought the Apera instruments ph meter. But every time I do check it it's always 6.0 or 6.1 it makes life alot easier.

Here's the one I bought after doing some research. I got this one bc it comes with alot of the stuff you would have to buy seperate to hook up other units. They also have a smaller stealth one for 60$ and it's a 4 stage and comes with all the hookups and flush line also. The only other thing you will need is a 1/4 float valve to build your resivior. I also bought the adapter to plug into my plumbing. It sounds like alot but it's all very simple.

You absolutely need a TDS meter if your growing in hydroponics. And make no mistake "drain to waste" is hydroponics. And in opinion the best form of it for many reasons I'm not gonna go into. The good news is they are not as expensive and as touchy as a ph meter. It dosent tell you what's in your water but it tells you how much stuff is in your water. Welcome to the expensive world of hydroponics. Lol. But once you see the results you will never go back to soil. No offense to soil growers.

Would fish tank de chlorine liquid be ok to add to tap water for watering plants? I just thought it could be a cheap way of removing chlorine. Most do have aloe Vera also in them so I’m sure about that. I noticed you can buy these for about $3 at Wal Mart. 5 ml treats 10 gals of water. Just curious if this is possible or not?

Damn I just broke my main stalk near the top. I just used duck tape.... is it going to die?
