New growth problem

how many hours a day is your hps on? really to me it seems to be having a problem taken in the light, causing leaves to droop. I have seen this on certain strains also, btw what strain is that?

The strain is Devils Cream by Sweetseeds. They tend to be a clawy strain from what I've seen which is why I wasn't fussing too much early on. I'm on a 20/4 light schedule. It's a closed glass encasing for the light.

Would it be ok to switch to a 18/6 schedule being so far into the grow? It's getting hotter here during the day so I wouldn't mind letting them get more rest as daytime temps outside are rising and seeing where that takes me.

I havent watered since yesterday morning. Top soil is dryish.

..looks like N-toxicity mostly,.. can you get us pics in normal light? HPS is lousy for color rendering, which is critical for diagnostics,... My guess right now is they don't like that soil/nute's combo, hence the small size,... what are the NPK#'s on that tomatoe stuff? dosage, frequency,...

Hope this helps. The Tomato Tone is at 3-4-6 and I used I think a quater cup of it when I mixed 20 gallons of my soil. I let that sit for 3 months.

I did add too much organic Acid Mix by accident. That's at 4-3-6 and I forgot how much I used but it was too much. I was trying to fiddle with the PH of the soil alot. Let me know if that could be an issue also.

Haven't fed them anything but purifed tap water the entire grow. No added nutes or teas. It's puzzling because it's only happening with 2 out of the 4 plants. The other two are ok. Same soil, same everything.

I agree, I think a good flush is needed also to be using flowering nutes and make sure you canopy is even all plant tops at same height from light.

also a closed glass you should be able get your light with-in 24", trying find your sweet spot 18-24" from tops as long as your able keep temps down. I would be anyway's I keep my open 430w hps 12-16" and gone as close as 8".. I understand your 600w will put out slightly more heat, but if that's being cooled, you really won't have an issue going to 24" or even 18" move it down slowly until you find your sweet spot, it's there:thumbsup::karmacloud:

also by any chance, do you happen to have a fan blowing directly on that plant?

.... well, with no in-pot readings of pH, it's hard to say if, or by how much it's off, other than the plant not showing clear symptoms of severely off pH,... but it can still suffer minor defc. issues without showing signs on the leaves,... I recommend getting a quality soil pH probe, like the Accurate 8; testing run-off is very inaccurate is done wrong, and even the improved method and calculation posted in the section above this one (highlighted) is still a crude estimate,... did you test the soil before planting? That way, you have at least done a slurry test, but that's out now,... making a no-nutes soil is a skill and challenge, mate, and much is missing and out of balance with this mix of yours,... better to keep your amendments more simple, and lighter in nutrient content, that way you can tinker and adjust with nutes and supplements as you need,... for bloom phase, you habe far too much N around still, and not enough P,... micronutrients are likely low as well now, so watch for color loss on newest growth just in case,... I'd look into a bloom booster, no N, like liquid KoolBloom 0-10-10 (GH), or something along those lines,...
.... yeah, the Red Family strains seem to be N sensitive in general,... auto's can vary a great deal in their preferences and tolerances, so look into the parentage for hints about this, and other grows of the same strain,...:smoking:

Thanks for all the responses guys. Sorry about being MIA for a bit but I was very frustrated with how things are going and wanted to give them a few days to see how things went while also cooling off myself.

Not to mention showing pics of a such a sick plant is quite ebarrasing lol.

They are still pretty bad but I think the only thing I can do is let them ride out the storm.

I even contemplated heavy about scrapping everything and just starting over with pre-made super soil from the Hydroponics store across the steeet. I'm on a budget so keeping the electricity running for nothing but crappy or no yeild seems so wasteful and scary to think about.

Fortunetly only two of them are showing major issues so I don't think I will do that.

Anyways..

I tested my P.H almost daily the 3 or so months I let it sit and directly before planting. I got it down from a flat 7.0 PH to a 6.4-6.8 PH range depending on how the meter was feeling.

I used Natural Earth Juice PH Down and Earth Juice PH Up (crystals) to try and fine tune it along with Blueberry Acid Mix (dry organic mix).

I do not have a fan running directly in the tent. I will put 4 clip fans in the future.

Temp: 74-84F
Humidity- 50-60%
Feeding- Filtered water once every 2-3 days until pots feel heavy.

Some positives and negatives on the issue plants that I can see so far:

Positives:

-Great smell developing along with very sticky and crystaly leaves (See Pics)

-Calyx growth hasn't seemed to slown down

-Purple colors starting to really come through

-Lots of very big pistils everywhere

Negatives (here we go)

-Extreamly curly and clawed leaves to the point where they just look like they are hanging on for dear life

-Really bad inward cupping of leaves. Looks like they are about to crack at any moment

-Verticle growth seems to have slown dramticly (See pics for comparison)

-New calyx's dont seem to be getting formed, just the growth of already present ones

-Just the tips of the lower leaves (About half an inch in) have turned yellow

Here are some pics of the much bigger and healthy girl side by side with the runt. Then the rest of the pics are just of the issue plant.

Thanks again guys for any responses/suggestion. Not sure that this update helps you help me but I've tried my best.
