Not disagreeing with any other methods of germing - this has always worked for me though and its very close to the dutch passion germing advice from their website .. although i see Hazy does the glass of water too so there you go. - more options ^_^
- fill up the pot, give it a water and leave it for a couple of hours,
- go back to it with a pencil and poke a little hole in the middle about 1cm deep,
- drop in my seed,
- sprinkle some light loose soil over the top
- give it a tiny little spray
- pop my top third of the coke bottle on it
- stick it under my lights (75-80f seems to do the trick)
- come back 4 - 5 days later (although your bound to check every day anyway ... "is it here yet?")
If i use coco, it's preyy much the same although i pop my seed into an expanded jiffy puck (already in the top of full pot of coco) and lightly sprinkle with coco.
The reason i do this is because i'm not really bothered about watching a tail come out, i just presume it will, and the less moving you do with the seed, the less chance there is of doing it damage. To this day, i've never had a seed not germ for me

Even with my limited experience I agree with this method completely, straight into soil after an initial pre water, I've germinated a grand total of six seeds (lol) with 100% success rate - hope this helps, it also seems like the least hassle which I like
