I'm retired....lol! And it takes me much longer to write about most of the things I do, than it does to do them. All this work and learning keeps my old brain semi-functional.

Very interesting write up . I need to try more of this myself . Have you ever used the oil you have made as a balm for muscle or joint pains ? I have arthritis in my knee and prefer not to take opioids for the pain.

Cheers Pop this is perfect timing for me as I'm not far from doing my first Coconut oil run,I'm a fan of Skunk Pharm so I will definatly use there method I will also use a smaller amount of oil to do 2 runs opposed to more oil and one big run.

Yes we both use it as a rub also. I'm going to cook a stronger batch I think for that. don't get me wrong, this does work as a rub, I think it just needs to be a bit stronger for real joint pain relief. What I'll do is cook a few more buds in a portion of this oil as this made almost 3 cups

Hi folks, I've done a small batch of BHO (2 grams ish) into 1/3 cup of coconut oil, let it simmer for 8 hours (around 180 degrees), then added a tsp of beeswax granules, and let that get happy for an hour. That concoction is a SUPERB topical salve/lotion for muscle pain and tension! The beeswax gives it some holding power, and is a great skin softener.
We've used it for sore muscles, muscle spasms, dry skin irritation, and Lady Waxi used it on some lingering poison ivy, this past Spring, and the next day- it was GONE.
SO, the high concentrates, using small amounts of oil/wax, is quite effective.
Its important to keep the heat low, of course. I never go over 220 degrees F.
Best to y'all!

Thanks you both for the reply , will have to have a good read over at skunk pharm and keep following this thread
