Lighting New tent setup

Hi all,

So started another blue dream balcony grow and realised she was lagging, couldnt for the life of me realise what i was doing wrong.

Until yesterday.

Turns out my in laws are on holiday and have been drying there pool towels on my balcony bannister, blockking my sun for the past week (while i was at work).

Convinced the missus to let me set up a tent, like a 2x2 foot doin max 2 at a time.

Lookin to set up an LED system for them, need suggestions for adequate light for them. Going soil, was thinking scrog but not sure yet.

Any input on which light? And based on light what kind of yield am i i looking at if i go natural or scrog.

If you have any mechanical inclination, go with a quantum board kit from horticulture lighting group. It's really not more than plugging a couple wires in, and their color coded. Also very thin profile, which helps with small spaces.

Cool been looking at the new white spectrum, will be looking into that more.

With a quantum board how many watts should i be aiming for for my purposes would you reckon?

Need loads of dank bud just to satisfy my ego lol

Figure 25w per square foot of space for flowering, they have a knob for dimming. The new "R" spectrum will be my choice for a breeding tent I'm getting together. With 4 square feet I'd be looking at the 135w.

Cool well looking at the same tent from germination through to flowering, i saw they have either the r spec or the 4k so not sure which should i be going with. I mean what do i need as to not be overkill and wasted investment..

All i want is the dankness every 2 month or so at yields that make me feel accomplished, with balcony grows and my lighting restrictions ive been pulling an oz per plant, all in soil and biobizz nutes. Im hoping for a setup that will rake me way past that so if you think i can do 2 autos to hit at least 3 oz per harvest under hlg quantums, ill ill you an ounce in the mail

I second Arthur, 135w r spec for full cycle in a 2x2.

2x2 tents tend to be short (usually 48 inches) , but you can get taller ones if you shop around. Scrog will help keep an even canopy and will be helpful in a shorter tent, but not necessarily required depending on the rest of your setup.

If you are in the US, growershouse.com has a good 2x2 tent from their brand Plant House. It's 64 inches tall. I just put one together today and I'm happy with the quality. The zippers are solid and so is the frame.

Secret Jardin has a 2x2 that is a little taller as well, but make sure you get a newer model with the metal corners if you go that route.

You can make 48 inch height work, it just can get tricky sometimes.

Hey there,
Just to add some personal input to your research...
I've been using the HLG100 v2, 3000K in my 2x2x4 tent going on my third run. I'm quite happy with what it's producing this far.
First run almost 4 oz. Second run right at 6 oz. Third run TBD.
I've seen a little light burn on some tips but nothing too bad.
