Thanks for the reply. Will have a read threw now.

i dont say this often but id go for a 100w led and usual stuff 4" fan with carbon filter

1 large plant should be plenty in there

Hey paronic,

Welcome to the Autoflower Network. The home of everything auto flower and good vibes. It's great to have you here, we have many sections tailored to learning how to grow and we have members with expertise in everything from grow cabs to lights.

Do you have any experience in growing at all? Can you give us a ballpark budget? We also have a stealth cab section and a few stealth growers (evol, herbal.experience) that do great in unorthodox areas of space.

Just for reference, these are the measurements in non-metric;

22" Wide
18.5" Deep
54" to rail
29" Chest top to rail

Are you removing the chest or do you have to grow on top of it?

Look forward to seeing your journal start up and thanks for joining us here man!

Hey paronic, welcome. I like your space it's about the same size as mine.
I reckon cheapest option would be 1 x cfl for veg with a reflector then change the bulb for flower when the time comes.
Cfl's are great for small areas but the higher watt ones will give off some heat. You would need a small fan for air circulation, and would need to consider a small extraction fan and vent for fresh air intake. I think two small plants in that set up could do ok or one larger one (up to 80cm high). Attached photo of my set up for your review currently using 400w hps. The heat is killer but the plant is doing well at temps around 29c. This is what it is outside ATM anyways.

Thanks peeps for the replies and the warm welcome.

@WhatsGoodie2. Unfortunately i have no past experience with growingapart from what i have read on the net. My budget is about £150-200, would like to try n keep it as low cost as possible and yes the chest can be removed.

@MilkMan. Nice setup you have there. Does your extraction system lead to a window for fresh air or does it just sit in ya room. Also what Watt CFL are you using or would advise to use?

Would i be able to eliminate heat issues by going with LED's.
Bin looking around and have found this but i read some were on the forums that the UFO shaped LEDs lack canopy coverage. I would of never looked into LEDs if Don didn't mention it.

CFL route is looking like the cheaper option.

That's a great start up budget paraonic. I'll do some research to try and piece something together with some suggestions for you. Is odor an issue? I mean, if it smells like pot, are there risks? Do you need to fit the seeds in your budget as well or do you already have some on hand?

You'd be able to eliminate the heat with an LED, yes, but - that's about half of your budget on a light alone right there. That may not be the best option. I'd really like to help out with your set-up and have some stuff in mind. CFL is far cheaper than LED and leaves more room for expansion in your grow. You can replace a bulb for a fraction of the cost to replace an entire LED panel.

replying via my mobile so sorry for blunt reply. will need to include seed price in budget and as long as people can't smell at the front door it shouldn't be a problem but I have never grown before so might have to consider it. thanks for helping. again sorry for being blunt. its a pain trying to reply via mobile

that blackstar would be nice if money was no issue
2nd option would be 125w of t5 or maybes 150w hps (i dont really like low wattage hps under 250-400w but your area is to small for larger ones)
3rd option you could also use a 125-200w cfl should be ok as well for flower but the led would be easier to work with
