I actually prefer mine come out and be squatters helps control height that way. I been trying prevent seedling stretch as much as possible if I can, I add more soil if I need to. I've noticed that by adding more soil and still leaving a slight breeze I get bigger stalks, I have to wait a week longer for lst training to start but that's ok with me.
yeah i as well am happy that my plant is staying low profile, topping it will hopefully really help as well. currently i would say my plant isnt any more then maybe 2 inches tall could even be around and inch and a half. though something tells me thats not going to last much longer, lol.

Yes my royal Queen quick one was small for 5 weeks she reached 13" and within a week she was 22" tall and loaded up with tops and now is 24" tall and flowering nicely, Total of 19 originally had 12 til I lst trained Lightly in pre flower and heavier in flower stretch.1 st pic is today 2nd is week 4, 3rd is before defoliation and heavier lst. I love defoliation tactics if done right I have great success and I lst heavier as they get further in bloom. Couple more tops on back side that's not in the pics.my journal for her is in the new growers thread under Quick one Royal Queen auto fem. Also the megaCrop has been a blessing. You should check it out well worth it. Great prices and lasts. Has major results that u can see daily.

wow man what a healthy looking plant! so since your no stranger to lst, any idea on ow much standard lst will actually hold back a plant? i was planning originally to just use lst alone but since my grow tent is only 4 feet high and i factor in leight height and poit height im probably not even going to have 2 feet of grow height available. depending on if this strain can handle being a lot closer to loight then 15 inches, so decided im going to go the topping at 4th node route, plus im thinking for a total noob like myself it might make lst a little more straight forward and easy, at least thats my thinking on it,lol. to me something just seems easier about managing two seperate main stems versus one more dominant one, i figure ill lst one to the right and one to the left and just keep kind of tieing everything down level.
i wish i could manifold it! there is something about that method that i just think is awesome, not to mention having control of exactly how many colas and everything nice and uniform, but sadly most autos i dont think have the growth time for it. though im tempted to try growing a seed and trying it just for fun, even if i only got a gram off it ha ha. i think i have seen video on youtbe of a guy doing manifold on an auto, but it doesnt give any specifics, im going to guess its some form of super auto with a much longer veg time. but theres just something about the unifirmity and that super thick truck!. oh wel topping and light lst for me and whatever happens happens. Im a very liughtweight user probably compared to most of the guys on here. an ounce would probably last me a half year if i was smoking it,lol. i usually infuse it with coconut oil and turn it into capsules. trying to smoke a joint just seizes my chest right up. but this afghan kush ryder im growing is supposedly to be like 22% tch. so if it harvestsdecent and i manage to dry and cure it half assed alriught, i can probably get away with a one hitter pipe and be ripped ha ha. any more then a few tokes and i start having killer coughing fits. but maybe im just a pussy,lol..

I taste everything I sow but like you a oz last me a year since AFN I'm more about growing them then smoking them. IMO if u just tied the top down to the side of the pot all ur branches would come up and make new main colas for you, then tie all those down and it would repeat itself and you would end up with a very nice even square canopy and ur height would stay where you want it. You would utilize your light better plus you would have nothing but colas. If you did this way add 2 weeks to it and lot less stress than topping and lot more colas.

I found that they love abuse if done gently or just do it get it done with. Sometimes I gradually bend and tie down, and sometimes I just bend and tie down and get it over with, getting it over with route seems best I think, that way they get back to growing how u want them to quicker. I bent the top over on royal Queen for 4 weeks then let her go I pulled branches out and around to compete with her then defoliation tactics and more Lst on branches went from 12 to now 19 possibly 21 colas by doing this and less stressful than topping and quicker recovery time this way I think.

Nice looking grow.

Sent from my comfy chair.

well luckily i still have some time left to decide ultimatly what kind of training im going to do, ha ha everytime i think i have me head set on something i get new advice that makes me start to second guess my previous choices. but if im just to tie down the top and not actually top the plant then ill wait until its tall enough to reach side of pot before bending her over (giggity),lol. figure that should be about another week or so at least pending how fast she starts to grow. so thanks for the great advice! and thank you for the nice grow comment. always makes me feel good when more experienced guys are saying things are looking good. those original lower two leaves seem to be getting worse and are starting to cup, im thinking it might actually be partly becasue the upper fan leaves are blocking light to them. but i dont think it would do much harm if they were to fall off since theres plenty of new growth to support plant. ill just keepo an eye on it and if i happen to see them droop enough to touch the soil ill gently pluck them off. all the opther leaves are seeming to look alright so thats a bonus. ive noticed a slight bowing in a couple leaves. but there still pounting upwards towards the light and not drooping. all in all i think its looking healthy enough. it might possibly have a very very slight overwater symptom, which i thought might happen. but pot will slowly dry out and she should be fine. new growth is still happening so im not to worried. still a fun grow regardless.

Is it the very little round leaves that were the first to open before ur real leaves came out if so I cut them off once they look dead.

i had the same thing happen by over watering and having my LED light to close and it never fully recovered i see the stem is woody. id scrap it and start another it will most likely just give more problems and take up space where a healthy plant could be.

No the cotylodons are yellowing though and going to remove them soon. It's the first set of single leaves. But rest of plant is growing well so I'm not to worried
