New Grower NL First Time Grow... Total Newb

So you guys are sayin I should run Metal Halide on 20/4 until week 6 or 7, then switch to HPS 18/6 from then on out?

I sprouted these for a week under some small CFL's on 24/7 then switched to HPS 20/4..

Do you think I should switch to MH bulbs for a while or just wait and try that on my next grow?

Hmm never looked into using LED lighting, is there advantages over Metal Halide and High Press Sodium?

I hope this stuff will turn out to be the shit that killed Elvis and made Ray Charles go blind..

Dude I never used MH I got HPS and problem for me is heat... Been drooling over some of the GN Led lights and the results are quite incredible and they give off much less heat... Getting the MS006 in Dec, Take a look at the GN threads for a good read and insight.. :smokebuds:

Just went and sneaked another peek at my girls, plants seem to be loading up on lil fuzzy somethings around the budding sights..

Im a newbie, these plants are almost 4 weeks old. I dont know if it is trichomes or female hairy parts. It is lil like sugary deposits on my budding sites like on the main top you could say..

These things are definetley getting stinky and I am loving that...

I kind of wish that I would have LST'd my plant a little, but I dunno if it would be ok at 3 1/2 weeks..

I will for sure next time try to get some sorta LST going..

Although one of my plants seems to have 13 or 14 budding sites going nicely...

Just move branches over with your hand gently without snapping them..and tuck in big leaves blocking light to bud sites.Led Is nice..no bulbs to change..no heat..low power usage..and 100% of the light is used for growing..compared to 30% of hps ..think thats right ...if you have quetions hit up GN the manual and aske them there..plus check out some grows done with them.like mine hint hint lol better yet tangs!TaNg's Thang

Those hairs are the pistils coming through, they will start popping up all over the tops and after a week or two, they will slowly start to change to amber, this is when you will start seeing the bud growth and smell increase...

I will be taking pictures, one of these plants is 19 inches tall.

It is a real monster..

I also have another that is only around 10 inches, I cant figure it out... Both plants received same enviroment and feeding.. Weird!

Hello, sounds like you are having fun. You can lst anytime, just bend over gently the main stem and secure it. Same with branches, just inhibit upward growth and the plant will think it needs a new branch going upwards. I have the same problem getting all my plants to grow the same, still haven't come up with a really good reason other than the auto strains aren't completly stable yet. Good luck and remember ph control and don't over feed/water.
