New Grower Northen Lights Auto, UK Outdoor Grow, 1st Ever Grow Attempt

Yes I feel that too. I want to get this grow to the end, and any smoke is a bonus. This is my first grow and its mostly for learning. I have learned some already. If I dont get to the end I will be disapointed, but if I finnish with some nice smoke at the end, I am not going to worry that it could have been more if I didn't make mistackes. Hope the weather picks up for you.

Your challenge is simple: just keep the plants alive for the summer, if you do that they WILL reward you with some nice smoke (assuming they do indeed come through as females...) You can worry about artificially inducing mega yields on future grows, but a soil and sun grown organic smoke is to hydroponics what home grown veg is to supermarket stuff.

Just a quick up date. The girls have had to spend the week in the green house due to weather, but they seemed to have continued to grow well.

The largest and most forward plant has its first set of 5 leafed leafs. This one seems to have lost some soil, is it safe to top up the soil on the plant, I read something about root rot, is this a risk if I top up soil in you oppinion.

I will be starting neuts later this week. They will be one month old in a few days!. So far so good. Its strange how little I feel I have to do for them atm, hope this is not a bad signe lol

Thanks for looking :peace:

Looking good EG.
Im not a soil grower but i dont think it will cause root rot if you top up your medium.New roots will grow
from the stem you bury,so,not a bad thing to do imo.
Be careful not to overfeed when you start feeding nutes,25% strength or less.
Do you have a tds meter, they are great for measuring nute strength.
GL.

Topping should be okay and in fact beneficial for all I've heard. Just don't feed them as much as I did. I'm going to find out if mine even survived at some point today.

Hi folks

Just over one month old now. Let me know what you think maturity wise.

There is a small yellow spot on one of the plants. This one also looks a bit lac luster now. Any sugestion of what might be up with it ?

All three have been treated the same, exept for this one had a top up soil. Any ideas what it could be/ advice on what to do would be welcome.

Thanks for looking:peace:

Hmm... Looks to be at the same stage of growth with mine.
Are you providing any air movement? They look a little stringy...

Other than that and a few leaves (shriveled, what's up with that?) it looks good to me.

Have they shown sex yet?

The shrivelling looks like too much nutrients to me (I did try to warn you!! ;-p ). You can't fix those leaves now. Just use water only for the next week or so and see if the new growth leaves that come through look ok.

The yellow dot is a bit of damage, possible an insect or burn (eg sunlight on water drop). Nothing to worry about just ignore for now.

Other than that they're looking good.

Look out to see if you can see white hairs coming out of where the leaf stems join the main stem. That will show they're female. If any do turn out as males you need to get rid of them quick.

Yep I know I was warned, alot, only put 4mg into 6L of water, then used it for all my plants. Still just the one plant effected so not too worried atm.

They are fems, but I guess you get the odd mail slipping through even then.

Thanks

How are the girls doing?
You got flowers yet? Started on the Biobizz Bloom?
Hopefully the weather's been pretty good for them over the last couple of weeks.

It's been almost a month from your last update. What's been happening?
