The plant is slowly recovering. The leaves that were damaged continue to slowly yellow and dry out but the rust colored spots have stopped forming. The newer leaves are starting to darken up from the center of the leaf and moving outward.
I have tested the soil in both containers three days in a row now. The three gallon container I get readings between 6.5 and 6.7. The five gallon container the reading have been more stable with readings 6.3 to 6.4. It is the same exact soil that I mixed 60% peat moss, 20% perlite and 20% compost. The compost is a multiyear pile that I continuously add to with a mix of tree leaves, vegetable waste, egg shells, used coffee and tea grounds.
My tap waters PH is 7.0 to 7.1 The water does have an awful lot of chlorine you can smell it in the water early in the morning.
