Indoor Odor Eliminating CFL's ??

Odor Eliminating CFL's
Do they work?
If they do, How well?
I am inclined to think it maybe marginal, but I would like to know if anyone on the site has tried them & what they think about them.

wsup I have some of these odor elim cfls...well now to say if they work for odors yes for bud soso I used them in a moldy old smelly room and i didnt smell it again...also put 2 lights in another room went in there to choke came back 15 min later didnt really smell like bud. or smoke..I had these lights on a grow but didnt really use them for long as I didnt mind the smell but when they were on I would say it lessend the smell..but I think for them to truely work you may need a good bit of them..I have some Chronic ryders (2) growing in a room right now and it smells not bad but you know what it is and I have 1 26w odor cfl in this room as a regular light I still smell them so defin one light wont do it I will try though tomorrow or friday to put more of these lights in the room to see if itll take away the smell..I dont really care right now for the smell in the house but I do have some fam coming to visit in 2 months and I dont feel like stoppin a grow cause they come and I forgot all about having these lights so itll be a double test I was planning on setting up a diffuser with some of my oils to mask but Ill try this out and post up what I find out..

well I tried 4 odor cfls in my room for a couple days and it did help the initial smell with room closed with the door open I could get a small whiff no and then...try n see I was using 2 26w and 2 16w both 2700k brands was TCP fresh2 and Purify o2 I would say go with the larger you can find and look for 6500k too if they are in your tent and tent closed it might take it down or away I just have then in the room and leds in the tent so it is poss..too dep on your strain if she is a real stinker then maybe not I smell some real stinkers that carbon filters didnt really help..Good luck

These bulbs are basically just small ionizers. The light emitted by the bulb reacts with a titanium coating on the bulb to release electrons.

As hipster says they are simply ionisers..

Google "negative ion generator" and you will find some more info, having one built onto a light is a gimick.

From what I remember reading they can have a positive affect on your health/state of mind, these are vastly different to ozone generators which can be harmful to your health if not correctly setup. (Remember ozone belongs high in the atmosphere and shields us, were not supposed to breathe it!)

i tried a few of these when i was hoping to negate the necessity of a carbon filter....i now have a carbon filter.

They will make a slight difference but no-where near enough to eliminate the odour completely.
