Grow Mediums Oh No..BayLee420 Going Hydro

Getting some cal/mg spotting on [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]. pH is around 6.0-6.2 at last few reservoir checks. Very rapid growth.

All caught up. The setup turned out real nice. The girls are coming along nicely. I think you're going to love the results from this grow.
Having a brown spot issue on [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]. Calcium deficiency this early?
  • Growing cannabis in hydroponics with nutrients that don't supplement calcium or when growing in water that has less than 6.2 pH (from Grow Weed Easy).
The West Coast Horticulture A&B have calcium at 3%. The pH of my nutrient solution is within the recommended hydro range of 5.5-6.2. The reservoir is holding at 6.0-6.2 when checked. Running aerated tap water at 95 PPM. PPM of nutrient solution is @ 500 when checked last night.

What do you guys do to keep a cal/mg issue in check, if calcium is less absorbed at a pH that is recommended for a nutrient solution.

Foliar spray of Epsom Salt and Calcium would help?

This West Coast Horticulture is suppose to be pH perfect as well. Read the fine print and only water plus 7.5 pH needs to be pH'd. Going to add some cal to the next res change. @Duckster, how many ml to a gallon do you go? 5ml to a gallon seems a good start?

Add enough to your base water to bring the starting ppm to between 125 - 150, then add your nutes. My RO is 12 ppm and 3 ml per gallon gets me to 125. Too much calcium can be an issue as well. It can lock out the nutrients and you'll start getting what looks like a P deficiency. What I run into in rdwc is the occasional strain related magnesium deficiency. Some just need more than others. I treat those with epsom salts rather than adding more cal/mag.

Been giving the Girls a weak solution of Epsom Salt foliar each day just before the lights come on. A light spray; dew like. Greening them up nice. Calcium is an immobile element; it incorporates into the cell wall, it cannot be relocated later. Therefore is only useful in the nutrient solution; will not be useful in foliar spraying. I did a reservoir change today and added 5ml of Ca to a gallon (20ml).
