Amnesia Haze Auto Redux
Updated DIY DWC Armoire Stealth

Lessons learned from my last DWC attempt. The DWC lid is covered with Panda wrap. Black side down, white side up. Eliminated any light coming into the Rez; adds reflection. The Girl's net cups are covered to stop Hydron clay light leaks and believe me Hydron clay will leak light into the Rez.

Keeping the Rez temps down by adding 32oz frozen Deli cup every four hours. Pain in the ass at times. Need to do until I can afford a small Rez chiller. Rez temps have been 63F-71F. Average @ 67F.

Girls are 8 days old.

pH holding at 60-62. Not needed

to adjust from the start.

Update: Girls are 11 days old. Going along nicely. Using UC Roots and the girls' roots are as white as a CNN Talking Head's teeth.

Nice fine root hairs too.
Rez Temp: 63F-68F (using 32 ounce frozen water Deli cups) Ice Probe is on it's way.
PPM: 181 (tap water PPM 88) Nutrient solution PPM 93
pH: 6.1 (running stable)

Week Two

Did a major reservoir change. Replaced the 10 gallon RuggedTote with a 14 gallon Rugged Tote. Now the Rez is a good 9-10 gallons of water. Doubled the volume.

Also added a Nova TEC Ice Probe to chill the Rez.
Going to be a couple of days to accurately gauge the efficiency of the Ice Probe. The Ice Probe people say that insulating the Rez will make a big temp difference. Going to wait on that and see. Ice Probe has an All Temp temperature probe that keeps the Rez at a set temp.

Two weeks old; 3x larger than her sister.

I believe I got it down to where I'm comfortable with DWC

It's like a mad scientist's grow ... I need one of those Ice Probes for the hot days ....

Added 2" pink insulation around the Rez exterior. Some 3M spray adhesive made the job easy.

The Rez temp climbed to 70F over night with the Ice Probe on. After insulating the Rez the nutrient solution dropped to 68F in two hours.
Gonna be an issue if the insulating is too good of a job. I will have the Ice Probe on only during lights ON. The probe is on a timer now and until I get the $$$$ for the temp control.

Couldn't add the Ice Probe to the 10 gallon Rez. Needed 4" of air space for the probe fan. With the 10 gallon and the way it is in the TV Armoire. I needed a deeper Rez to instal the probe. The 14 gallon tote was the only solution.

Ice Probe is on continually; no on/off switch. Nova TEC say's it takes a few days of running to get the max out of the probe. Right now the Rez temp is 68F. I'd like to get the temp down to 65F. That should take awhile.

Yes. I wish I'd have soil grow on the side. Saving my pennies to get another Armoire set up just for soil.

All in all; it's going to work out fine with the DWC. They just started their 3rd week. Got plenty of time.

The other smaller Amnesia Haze Auto has to be a mutant. Her roots are growing, but nothing near as large as her sister. She was going to be culled. Decided to let her go on and see what happens.
