Thanks Neko & Jack! I don't know much about hydro either. Hopefully they'll be ready by the time I leave. If I decide to leave them I'll cut the photo period to 12 hrs and reduce the ventilation. We'll see. :tiphat:
Jack, I had the same problem, tank would dry up in 3 days and the plants are left with no water for 4!
Leaving it to run out wasn't an option really even if I found a way to shut the water pump off when it ran out, the plant would be screwed with 4 days light and no water. Having a feeder tank is the only feasible solution if you have the space, I didn't so had to chop early
Good morning! Thanks Jack! Bilbo I did modify my res with a float valve between grows. However I still need to add a secondary res and I am not sure it will work as the root ball in the res looks like it will hold the float up. I'll keep you posted.

SOLUTION to your float valve prop..
Just an idea that works..thanx to GHE [emoji3]
You need 2 buckets.
1.Connect your res to one bucket. That bucket should hold your float valve at the water lewel you need.
Lets call that your controller. It controls your water lavel...
2.connect your controller's float valve to another bucket (bottom of bucket) Lets call that you Top up res. That the res you fill up whit fres nutes."top up"
Put the top up res, on top of your controller, so the gravity can feed nutes to your controllers float valve.
Done
Did it make sense. Im pretty stoned right now so bare with me..
