Organic backyard grow questions

Hi all,

For my first grow I'm attempting a outdoor organic strategy for my backyard.

I got some "super soil" from a local nursery that they replaced their line with...so I assume it's pretty legit. It also has azomite in it. And an organic soil for the center section of the pot to protect the seedlings for the first couple of weeks.

I'm using HSO's Auto Blue Dream and Dedoverde Haze. The blue dream in a 5 gallon smart pot and the haze in a generic 2gallon nursery pot.

The haze is 17 days old and is looking pretty good...a bit small. And the first blue dream got a bad case of root rot from some serious North FL storms. So I planted another seed and it's on day 4.

And I also just put in an RO system, so I'd like to utilize that if possible.

But, I had a couple questions:

What fertilizers if any should I use? And what schedule?

And what sort of water/schedule would you recommend?

Sorry for the generic questions, but I wanted to try and get answers that are specific to this climate and situation.

If you are using a legit super soil, no nutes should be necessary until flower at least 40 + days, may not require any additional at all. Its very easy to over fertilize when you first start out, trying to do too much to help your plants.

Nice, thanks treeman! What flowering nute would you recommend to stay organic? Could I introduce any Peruvian Seabird Guano?

well if yer doing a simple soil in an outdoor setting Id resonally use a simple soup styled feeding personally but you could use almost any nute program you wanted with decent drainage.but imo fish,kelp liquid and even a kelp n fish mix would be ok with molasses and similar feeds.but autos dont typically exhibit their full potential outdoor most times.but thats what id do anyway.a WP too would be helpful.but simple is man and use a teaspoon n a half er so per 2 litres of water for a starter feed.looks like shes ready for one from the color in the pic imho.nice wee one too!

Thanks Eyes on Fire! I saw a Neptune's Harvest blend of Fish and Seaweed with a 2-3-1 analysis. Would that work?

If so, how can I mix that with Molasses? And how often? Also, I have a RO system...should I use that water?

you can use Ro water but you'll have to get a cal mag supplement eventually.but early on you can add small doses of molasses and epsom to the Ro water.but Id try n get 5-1-1 fish personally but a straight neptunes fish without kelp and get the kelp seperate is ideal but yes it'll work ok.if your planning on brewing some teas look into some alfalfa,kelp meals and/or cotton seed meal or feather meal for you loose teas.and thats if you can get a more N rich fish solely.if not thats what the meals are for to brew loose teas or use an extraction bag n that'll help your plants get more N earlier in the grow. but ya man the kelp n fish is alright. just a bloom like bone meal.,N would be like cotton seed meal or alfalfa and the kelp liquid with the fish and molasses would be awesome.epsom too.but those past few things are what I used earlier on in my organic grows for simple loose teas.well and some EWC too but it wasnt very involved .a small handful of items n voila.lots of room for movement within teas in the right proportions.

Do you think that a 80/20 blend of RO and tap water along with the minerals from the azomite in the soil (which has cal and mag) would be enough?

Also, should I introduce the Alaskan fish emulsion and liquid kelp together or fish then kelp later in the grow?

thats fine dude.its all good.my hands aint that bad today,but you can add say(its an auto so its better imho) roughly the second feed after the starter feed something 5 cc to 2 litres of water and once your into gallons or half gallon drneches atleast nearer the flowering you'll slowly increase it each week and in turn backing off the fish and swapping to an all kelp and basic tea diet.and this is where the kelp n fish combo work well.also you can use the liquid kelp WITh the kelp n fish mix just take whatever mentioned and cut it in half when your fully feeding them.and basic teas are gonna be a solid thing too.so ya may wanna look into them also.give you FAR FAR move ability to tinker your plant as she grows nice for ya.and with a small touch of mole as well and a slight sprinkle(or cal mag additive at 2-4 drops a gallon) as well as any tap or rain water you'll use sounds like it'll be fine imo. just remember to lime your soil . thats gonna help a lot too.

I just ordered some Alaskan fish emulsion, liquid kelp and blackstrap molasses.

My runoff is currently a 6.5, do you still think I need dolomite?

no sweat man,well imo Id use it just in case there is a wobble in your PH since your not PH ing your water and various things.especially if your planning on teas.just my way to do it a little.but at present you dont need it but donw the road it could help but it wouldnt hurt either..lol your call bro.
