Lighting Orrganics DIY build help wanted!

On another note I have my cobs citi clu048 1212.. But I can't manage to get solder to stick to the tiny terminals. I've scuffed them but have no flux, I'm wondering if this is the issue. I kapton taped two in series to my driver but had no light once power was turned on.

Maaannn... Blacks dots after a flicker.. I'm guessing that means its fried??? So dissapointed in myself for not piping up for help.

I'm f@#$%&+ struggling to solder with shit fat wire onto tiny terminals.. I've had five working in series briefly, until I flip it over to test then a couple in line go out..

Also can't get the pot to noticably dimm the lights.

Says I have a memory issue and can't upload a pic sorry about that but not much to look at beside black dots in one cob and messy solders on the rest.

I swaped out the two mars quick connects that ran to the two mars drivers for a single series circuit connected to my meanwell. Thankfully its working. Its a mess though, not sure I even want to show it haha. It does seem to be less bright than the old blurps though not sure what's going on. I'm gonna have me a midnight toke and have a look with the temp gun soon and see if all is well gotta be sure its OK before I hit the hay. What temp should they be normally?

@organic I'm struggling on your wiring mate you have 2 red wires going to 2 cobs and 2 black wires going to the other 2 and the wire your using is way to thick
you shouldn't need to scuff the pads just a little dab of flux then a little dab of solder on the soldering iron tip and just touch the pad to tin it then tin the wire the same way WARNING if you keep the soldering iron on the pad to long it can burn the chip out if you look on the citizen spec sheet it should tell you how long at a temp

That wiring worked, for one pair, on a meanwell. Two pairs on the pair of mars drivers didn't. So I swapped it out and wired in series to the mean well.. Just scraped my mars in the process haha..the soldering issue was sorted. I got some thinner wire, solder is pre fluxed and I learnt from YouTube to heat the terminal before tinning.

Onto the next issue:crying:

The dimmer won't adjust, only go from full power without it and minimum power when attached. I can't have it full power because I don't have spot on heat sink material and lowest power it way to dim.

After a couple days break I sat down looked at my materials and knocked up a nice working unit! Its a sad excuse for a light quality wise but its running cool at 30-40°and filling 1x1m with beautiful 3500k light! I'll monitor temps especially at the junction. Rated max temp is 100c. I still can't get the dimmer function to work with my potentiometer, that would be great but I can't solve it.

Its built with three citie 1212 wired in series on an aluminum sheet being cooled by a CPU heatsink and fan with some misc fin heatsinks. Only being held on with kapton tape at the moment until I stock up supplies like new aluminium and the right metal screws for my holders.

Ok so the rigs now running six chips. Spreading them out and adding three has reduced the running temp from 40s to 30s. Being flush on aluminium with no casing the light reflects beautifully in the tent.

I still can't get the dimmer to work though all I can get it to do is go low or high, no middle. Its a standard 100k om potentiometer and the driver has the blue and white wires. Just won't work though.
