Hey guys I plan on growing as many auto's outside geurilla style as possible this year. Now being the first year growing a lot of automatics I dont really know what to do with getting the plants outside. I mean that I do know that auto's do not like to be transplanted right? I was going to start my auto beans in solo cups for the first 12 days then move them outside. Would that be ok to do without causing my to loose on my overall yeild? Was thinkin that mabey germinate in paper towel then move the sprouts out then, Seems like too much can go wrong that way also. I do not want to grow them in bags out in the bush, Directly into the ground is what Im gonna do. I dont think that I will have enough of a seed stock to be able to go out and sow them beans directly into the soil and water and hope for the best. If transplanting and accepting a lower yeild then what is the max time that I can keep them under CFL's. I know that they need a few days to set down their "feet" into the new holes that they will live the rest of their lifes in. Before they will flower properly. Been wrestling around my head with that for a bit now and have not seen any direct answer to those questions anywhere. Thanks AFN for the help. Keep an eye out for my outdoor geurilla thread in around April when I start to germinate my photosensative strains to get ready for mother natures glory. Stay Cool All...............K.I.M.

Looking forward to following your exploits kim,
Outdoor geurilla is all about the juggling! Little things you do at the start make a big difference at the end and having to start off indoors, transport and transplant you canonly do whats managable. Personnaly i like to do fewer plants started in bigger pots and then tier them once out. Good luck
What size pots are solo cups?

Right on Maffro cool you stopped by. Solo cup's- Those red throw away cups used usually at keg party's and the such. You know them red thin plastic cups great for starting plants in. They hold just enough soil for the first 15-20 days of life and easy for transporting out to the geurilla plots. What I am used to is starting my seeds indoors then moving them out and transplanting them into the ground for the rest of the season. Just dont know if that will hurt my final product doing so. Take it easy K.I.M.

Read this thread on Tiering your cups...
It is a couple of pages in

Full Duplex's Tiered Cup method

Basically, you cut the bottoms off of a cup, and stick that cup into another cup, when you are ready to replant, just pop the bottom cup off, and stick the other bottomless cup right on top of the soil you want to finish in. it helps the roots grow bigger, and keeps it a bit safe from out door critters like mice. That is why I would use a bag. But you got this going, and I am wanting to see you do it your way my friend.

Hope it helps,

Peace

Now that is one great Idea, Glad you found your way here MasterEekman. Im going to do that for sure, But would it be better to start with a smaller cup so that it can spread out the roots as soon as possible. Just let the roots dangle into the other cup like you say so to not impede with that root spurt that I find autos go through at early life. Hmmm Ill get it figured out, I was just going to do what I always did, Pop it out of the cup and stick it into the hole and water. Voila. I just dont want to stunt my vegetative growth too much. Thanks for the tips Keep em coming. I will try to get out to my plots in the bush to show some winter shots of the area and then as the season progresses You can see Nature in my area doin its thing. K.I.M.

Check it out, if you get your auto plant to start growing with close internode, that multiply quicly, then put it outside, I will generally not stretch so much and fatten up better.

Just my opinion

Peace

Tiering is the way !
Been experimenting the last 3 seasons and the best method for me is 2 or 3 gallon start off pots tiered into something atleast the same size or bigger. Ive found chopping the bottom off the start up pot and gaffer taping it back on is a big help, ive also tried vertically splitting the pots too for a complete transplant.
I find it much easier dealing with one plant at a time when it comes to transporting and it doesnt look too suspicious just in a large shopping bag or bin bag (use binday as cover !)

Great thread k i m , I was wondering the exact same thing. I'll keep my eye out for your guerrilla grow this year, I should have one started around May, gonna try both photos and autos.

I'll be trying the FD tiered solo cup into ground which I will amend with my own TLO soil. Blaze 1

:peace:

Right on gilly good to meet you glad you stopped by. Im gonna start my photo seeds in mid April keep an eye out for it. Should be a good one.(hopefully) k.i.m.

Any plans on soil ammendment for you or just planting in native? I was thinking of adding very basic stuff like kelp, rock dust, EWC and promix in each spot and mix up the native soil with it, only about 3 gal per location than let the roots gather native nutrients once they surpass my mix area. My theory is to give them a lil boost in the beginning than let momma nature taker course, sik logo to man
