So I have a Think Different plant at day 96 and the main cola and bigger side branch cola are just about ready for chop. But there is a still lower bud sites with fresh white pistols coming in trying to form new growth. So my question is can I harvest the mature bud branches now and let the lower sites finish up? If so is there any special process to it?

You can harvest some of her:five:, no worries with that. You did forget to at what day she is though:crying:. I dont think there is a special process, just cut the stems you want down.:smokeit:

Yup, chop off the tops then the lower bits can absorb more light and get bigger. :check:

Ok cool. Something just dawned on me. I like to put my plants in 48hrs darkness before chop. If I do the partial harvest, I wont be able to do that with the early harvested branches.

Its interesting that you say that because I'm considering trying this for myself. I wanna try putting it in darkness 48 hours before first chop then put it back under my lights another week or so then back into the dark for 48 more hours. I'm not sure how it'll turn out but I'd like to try it out

Yup I was actually thing of the same strategy myself but unsure if the 48hrs dark and then back into light would harm the remaining buds.

Give it a try, and let us know how it turns out. Im not sure about putting it into dark and then bringing it back under lights

I just did this and a lot of new pistols popped on the lower branches. I can't comment for the dark cycle because this batch was stunted and abused all the way through. I THINK it helped though

In theory, putting it back in the dark will promote more growth of Trichomes, thats why they need sleep to produce more protection for the day ahead, but after 3 days in the dark the plant will realise that winter is bang on it so it will then degrade and die.
Well worth a try tho, isnt it a possibilty that the shock will make the plant Hermie tho?
Id risk it to see..
Best of luck to ya Sir! :wiz:

I just did a partial harvest. I skipped the dark. It came out great and the buds that are still growing are doing awesome. Fat as hell. I'm probably going to do alot of staggered harvests from now on. It really gets the most out of your plants indoors in small spaces. Just my :2cents:
