How strong would you run H2O2? I used about 1.5 ounce per gallon. Blocked out light, used algae killer for koi ponds, changed water a few times, and it seems to be stabilizing. Bought PH down, and will start using that now. It was easier for me to use DWV, when there were large swings.

I soaked it for a day, and re-adjusted the PH a couple of times. It had to be the light. In two weeks the system developed a lot of slime, that the algae killer got rid of.
Here are some pictures of the slime and what I did to block out light. The trays were cleaned 2 weeks ago.

A little info on blocking out light. Panda film works great. Used mylar in addition for reflectivity, because light does pass through mylar alone. Used nashua reflective duct tape labeled FlexFix, and realized after awhile, if held up to light, you can see right through it. Need about 4 layers to make it opaque. Switched to heavy duty nashua reflective tape, labelled 324A cold weather, which has paper backing, and is completely opaque.
Also, thin aluminum foil lets light through. Use heavy duty. To test for opaqueness, I took a pvc pipe, covered with heavy duty aluminum tape, then attach the foil or tape to test, over one end, go to a grow light, look inside, and if there is any light, it is not sufficient.

I had an algae once with one of my hydro girls. Same thing as you.. The rockwhool cube was green and the water was cloudy. But I am surprised that you have such a problem seeing how very little no light can get into your rez. I could be wrong here but algae doesn't grow in the dark.. The only thing I can suggest is taking those paper covers you have and replace them with something that doesn't transmit light. I also like the bleach idea but have never tried it. I cured mine by covering the rockwool and doing a series of washouts with hot water for the rez and lid only. I did that over the course of 4 days-everyday along with pure chilled water for the roots. It cleared up and plant is doing great.

Do not have access to roots, they are netpots inside flower pots. Going to hit them 1 or 2 more times with H2O2. PH is stabilizing, and water is much clearer.
