New Grower Photoperiod Phenotype? Auto Black JH by OSS anyone experienced?

Is there such a thing as a photoperiod pheno? I mean can they slip through or is that an impossibility with autos and I'm just being impatient? I'm close to day 35 and no pistils on what is supposed to be an Autofem Black JH. No big deal just has me curious if they get through every now and then or a male here and there? Not sure as I am only on my 2nd auto. This plant is driving me batshit. Everthing else is done as before, watering less but similar everything else. Anyone else that has grown this strain, PLEASE chime in. Does it just go long, am I just being impatient or do I have a problem?

PS IIRC this is a mostly sativa strain, this why its taking longer?

I would think that would be seeing some preflowering by now. They advertise 55-65 days from seed

55-65 days till harvest, ya right. I kinda thought it would take longer than that but I also thought I would have pre-flowers by now. This is worse than being a teenager. Unlike a teen I know exactly what I'm waiting for and that it ain't THAT big a deal but I DO still need it to happen soon. HAhahahaha.
I guess no one within earshot has grown this strain? Anyone? Anyone out there have experience with this strain?

I have read posts on forums and seen videos on youtube about people ordering auto flower seeds and the companies that send them out screwing up and sending them a photo strain. Also heard about it going the other way too, people ordering photo period seeds and actually getting auto flower seeds. If nobody with experience on this strain chimes in and your circumstances allow you could always change your lighting to 12 12 to throw them into flower just in case they are photo period.

That is exactly what I did. It's been about 4-5 days in 12/12 now. I even went 24 hrs dark to try an jumpstart her. I just hate cutting off that much light time. I don't go 24 light hrs but I usually go 18/6 to 20/4.
This was to be a plant I reverse to make a seed run. Kind of needing it to be the autofem she was advertised to be.

That's not the same thing. That is sending the wrong product from the beginning


This is different in that is had One (maybe) seed do this, not a whole package.

YES, it is possible that a seed that was feminized will NOT be female.

Seed companies should fix this for you, however I wouldn't bother myself for one seed. Email them and see if you can get it fixed.

I know you were just wondering, and was only curious, so I am not sure if you wanted justice or an explantation.

Every day I think I am seeing pre-flowers maybe but it turns out they are just new leaf growth! I'm just bummed because I had 1 seed of this strain and its such a vibrant plant, I really wanted to breed it, use it for a cross AND of course get more autofem seeds from it. I still have hope, I dunno, maybe on day 45-50 I'll throw in the autofem towel. I guess if she, is in fact a she, just a photo she, I could still do that. Just take a whooooole lot longer to get some autofem seeds from the process.
I'll report if/when she, IT, decides to sex up.

Original Sensible Seed Co. Black JH Auto Feminized. She may yet come around. Course I gave her 24hr dark and have had her on 12/12 so how do I know (if she flowers female) if she was a late auto or onset photo? At this point I could probably clip a clone although I have never done that, I have researched it quite a bit. Might have to do that, might just be the key...

On a sidenote, I've had another Short Stuff Seeds Co Himalaya Blue Diesel freeze up on me as a seedling. Grows cotyledons, turns dark, stops growing and dies. This is #2, I'm concerned about the genetics I've chosen to propagate! I can't spend another $100 on seeds, I just don't have it. I've devoted every last viable plant/seed I have to doing seed runs so that I would have future baby girl plants. Hopefully I can get at least one done correctly with this motley crew of plants I have going now.
