I had 5 plants of white widows. I already cut down 3 because they already had quite a few fan leaves yellow so I thought it's time.
I've left 2 plants that are left for two more weeks, because they were for some reason really behind. They were much shorter and no signs of yellowing.

So now they got bigger and all the leaves are now yellow. One or two lowest leaves have fallen off. However, when looking at the trichomes with a loupe, they are clear, maybe little milky, but I don't see any brown.

My question is - is it time to harvest? Or should I wait few more days until more of the fan leaves fall of? Or wait until some of the trichomes turn brown (as J.Cervantez recommends in his video).

I've read this post here that says "Yellowing of the fan leaves will continue as the plant draws the stored energy from them. Eventually they will die and fall off. By the time that the smaller leaves that come from out of the buds will also start to turn yellow. Then it's time to harvest."

So I am confused when is the time to harvest the autos? I have never seen plant as yellow as mine is now anywhere. Today it's 12 weeks since they were 1" seedlings.

The pictures are 2 days old. The plants are even more yellow now.

Start "cleanse" now, you're about 2 weeks out. As soon as those yellow leaves go see thru with spots and come off with hardly any pull that leaf is out of there. When you're left with stalks with bud leaves turning amber at the tip it's time to chop.

My situation was a bit different, my top cola was almost all yellow with baby fan leaves and bud leaves starting to turn yellow at the tip. So, I took the top cola off and letting the lower nodes grow more and let the fan leaves do the same. 2 weeks + the seed companies info.

Thanks for all the input. I guess I'll leave at least few more days and we will see how it goes.
So it looks like I've harvested the first 3 way too soon. :(

Can I use the yellow fan leaves for something, like cannabutter or hash or is it a garbage?

Compost? :)

@Moderators, can you please delete this duplicate post? My guess the DDOS is still very active....when will they let up?

Much depends on what effect and yield you want. If the trichomes are milky(they may not change!) it will give a less sleepy effect, however if you want a sleepy effect I suggest a few more weeks and start to flush(if you want). Also letting it grow more will give bigger buds.
I stop when the pistols go white and/or the trichomes mostly milky but that's me. Figure out what you want from your dry buds and work backwards from there.

You can smoke the yellow fan leaves to sample what's around the corner or some eat them.

Yellow fan leaves are smokable? Gonna have to try that.

No we're fine dingo - just moving some things around - takes time with such a big site to get everything up and running perfectly again. (And it's one guy who works in the day doing all the hard work for us ^_^)

Only if you want a headache :) Some people keep the sugar leaves and trim to make hash. But i dont think a few dead yellow leaves will do you much good to smoke :)
