Lighting plant photonics led

Also I didnt read any journal about that light because one was never linked and when I go to all threads created by alpha omega he only has 2 threads that arent a journal. All we have so far is pictures of the light and a seedling.

Oh i have the complete journal my friend, but in total respect of my good friends at AFN, im humbly not going to infringe any regulations by posting it. All friendly Forum politics is all. Just trying to keep the peace bro.

To each their own :) Just voicing my opinion that more light can be bought for less money... If you are happy with it then rock on. Just saying I bet my $200 light can produce 4 zips no problem in fact Im expecting over 3 zips in about 5 weeks, could have been more with maximum number of females in my space, so far nobody has told me anything this light can do that others don't for a fraction of the cost Also the price of Herbs depends on where your at in the country. Im in Cali and we are swimming in a sea of buds so that makes the price drop. A QP (4 oz) would run me about $800 or 480 pounds. I would pay more but it would have to be ultra premium high grade OG Kush. The price of herb shouldnt ever reflect to the price of grow equipment. I shouldnt pay more money for a light because of the market value of herb..

If you are happy with the light then Im happy for you as well, good luck in all your endeavors!!
if you go to the plant photonics website there is a link to the grow on the main page bro:thumbs:

Nice plant in that journal, good looking nugs. But Ive seen grows equally good done with $200 - $300 lights. $1300 is a big price tag... I have a $200 light that my plants are going nuts under right now I cant believe how much they like it, I used to laugh at LED grows and that wasnt that long ago. Im just saying that I have a hard time paying that much when it doesnt do anything other lights dont do..

The model tested was not that much dosh mate! methinks your thinking about the top model. This one is very nicely priced. about right for a LED its size and power.
But anyway......dosh is not what I wanted to discuss...its not about comparing prices etc... its about seeing what it could do.

The point of my test was to see if a lower powered LED could do a good job, @ 90 W total consumption its pretty impressive and that seedling had a cold few weeks start aswell.

Show me a 90W LED (one that draws 90~W of power to drive its LED's, Fans, etc.., not output) that can produce 118 grams from a grow that was stunted from the start cos of the cold and ill eat my LED.

Plus perfect for hot climates, as it doesn't even emit hot exhaust like most LEDs do & completely silent, not quiet, silent. no noise at all.

No speculations, just proof.

All LEDs do work nowadays, more or less imo but a huge part of it is of course, the growers skill.
At the end of the day, its all about the growing and how your happy with it, a bad workman always blames his tools anyway lol.

Fair enough, with only consuming 90w or around .75 amps here in the states which is nothing I have to admit Im impressed. I had to convert all that crazy metric stuff to SAE (JK I know the metric system is easier to use) but a 2x2 space isn't unreasonable. I wouldnt use heat as a selling point though, I havnt seen any LEDs that have hot air coming out of it, in fact most people are having to heat their grows, Im fortunate enough that winter doesn't effect this place much it was 78F degrees yesterday. I will tell you what, make a model with 5W Cree LED's in it and add a tiny bit of UV and a tab more green besides whats in the 3500k, a US power plug and I will buy one of the lights from you!

Also if the lights are really that badass then why dont they sponsor the forum? They could send out 1 or 2 test models to experienced growers so that we all can see what they do. I would love to see an unbiased grow done with one of the lights. Give back to the community that buys the lights and sponsor!! You could then post all kinds of links on here ::)

so your led doesn't raise the ambient temps of your room? the reason there is a fan is to cool the leds and push out the heat that they produce:dunno:
why would you want 5W leds? and also green? any green in the spectrum is not absorbed by the leaves this has long been known, hence why the bigger companies dont use green in the spectrum
the unbiased grow that you would love to see is also on the plant photonics website. the site where the grow was done is sponsored by them lol

I was under the same impression about green bro, but green is used if you check out the link in my post on page 1

Have you not read any of the research done by tons of scientists from NASA to universities about the effects of green spectrum on plants? A really good article on the subject was already linked in the thread, maybe this time you will read it http://www.heliospectra.com/sites/w...ents/what_light_do_plants_need_2012-10-05.pdf

Also temps in my grow space are the same as ambient in the room yesterday was a high of 78F. The LEDs may produce a slight amount of heat but they all do. Most people with LED lights never complain about the heat thats one of the major selling points of LEDs. When I was running HID lighting I had to run A/C constantly.

I want 5w LEDs because they have a longer throw and better penetration. Im running 80 5w in 7 wavelengths right now.

And Im not so sure that yourself and Alpha dont have something to do with this company so yeah I feel like the grow journal could be biased. Just saying its odd how you follow the links on the webside and you see Alphas name plastered everywhere....
