Lighting Plant training for autocobs - need some tips from you all

I haven't tried LST yet. I do have a question. Can you remove leaves throughout the grow, to allow light to inter plant.(auto White Widows)
def try to tie her down b4 removing leafs.
Some leaf removal is good during times. But a good tie down will do the job and shape your plant

I did that test of two cobs one plant and the two plants that were in the test found two cobs to be too much light. I went back to one light per plant. We don't know enough about strains grown under cobs at this point, so a little flying by the seat of our pants is called for.

I put a Royal queen seeds Girl scout cookies under two Autocobs..started at 30" until stretch was done, once flowering started ,I dropped lights about 2" every 24 hours until I reached 18" from tallest cola. She didn't mind one bit. I have a mephisto Double grape right now under 2 Autocobs..again 30" ..she should finish her stretch next week..and I start dropping lights...no stress shown on either plant.both plants heavily LST'd

I start defoliating between week 2 and 3. Here is some Eggnogs that is 2 week old, I start removing the top fan leafs from the main stem tomorrow and keep the light high to get tall plants if that is the plan

Hopefully the result is like this, some Eggnogs harvest a few weeks ago

Here is 4 ak420 that grow under 10 cobs scrog style, removed leafs from week 2 also like the eggnogs, heavy supercropping now, and keep the COB's close, about 25-30 cm and from start of week 2 light was put down to about 50-60 cm distant

The 10 cobs run 61-65 w and cover 2,5 square meter, it is already tight and main stretch to come, I think about 1,2-1,4 m at harvest.
Yeah, it all depends what you want

Here some baskets with light always about 30-40 cm, these one only leaf removing until now, no other messing around

On the last pic you can see the 4 Ak420's in the big pots to the left behind.
These hanging pots are great, one COB each, and they give 70-100 g every time if I look after them and don't forget to water too much haha

But really, without a quentum meter, all this will be always trial and error, and when the stretch start and grow up to 7-8 cm in a day, then they can quickly get burned. I don't use reflectors on my cobs btw

Even with a meter its trial and error, unless you already know what that particular plant wants/needs. And as autos grow from seed, that knowledge isn't available. A meter will tell you how much light there is, nothing more. Watching the plant tells you what you need to know.

Right on.

Check out the defoilating stuff on growweedeasy.com. I did and followed the suggestions for some leaf stripping during growth and then about a week or 10 days in to flowering.

During growth I top once, then tie down stems to level off the canopy. Then I start to remove growth from the lower 1/3 of the plant.
Then about 10 days in to flowering and after stretching is pretty much done I stripped out a lot of fan leaves around bud sites. Really thinned out the growth a lot. I could see how much more autocob white light was reaching spots that were dark and shady before. And a week after that I'm liking the results. I have stems that have bud sites stacking on top of each other and they will become nice full size buds soon enough. I find that last defoliation during early flowering encourages a lot of bud growth, which is what you want.

Also you want to read the part of what to strip away and what to leave behind a couple of times and look at the pictures. Don't want to remove the parts that will be buds. You want to remove fan leaves without damaging bud sites. And try and tuck leaves as much as possible too.

yes of course, you are right. I think a meter and your eye is a good combination. the meter give the foundation you build a house on, any design you like.
What do you mean by auto's grow from seeds so no knowledge is available?
