and your last post above please I have Australian relatives, and they would find that offensive.
In answer to your question - save yourself some woe and save up for the real thing. Rhino or Phresh filters are popular - i've run a phresh filter for 4 years+ and it's still doing a great job!
^_^
Sorry to sound like a hard ass with the language (i do find it offensive), it's just that we have thousands of members here and try to keep it clean for all!
stress less guys taking care of aye i did not think of the others :/
so woulodnt even bother with a home made filter then? just get a store brought one, i'm still gonna make one cause im a hands on person and building stuff is what i do best.
4 years!! woohoo, we'll look into some kind of filter for the dankness and air flow, would 100mm+ fans do the job for the size of that cab?
100mm fans are usually bathroom type fans - which i find abysmal at removing heat and smell.
Better of with a 125mm RVK fan, they're not very expensive and you'll really appreciate the extra CFM's you'll get.
By the look of the cab, you'll probably want to do a reverse filter setup so it's important you get a fan that's up to the job (otherwise it wont be powerfull enough to keep negative pressure or push the smelly air through the filter)
All the best (and thanks for the cleaning up ^_^)
Blue
no worries champ.
And reverse filter, say what? hahah isn't that when you have the filter on the outside of the grow room? to get negitive pressure would you have to use different size fans for exhaust and inlet or that doesnt matter? sorry for the hundred questions haha i blame the beers!
That's right mate, you'll probably need fan and filter outside the box judging by the space.
Dont worry about intake fan for a cab that small - it wont help (especially as you already have controllable temps) - just a small hole (125mm circle or square) at the bottom will do and a fan powerfull enough to pull the cool fresh air from the bottom and push the stinky air to and through the filter.
Infact, i'd sit your filter on the ground (nozzel up) put the fan blowing directly into the hole (so you need to get 125mm fan AND filter), get some ducting and attach from the top of your cab to the top of the fan.
Try not to have too much ducting (length wise) or twists and turns if you can avoid it. The more distance and bends there are, the more CFMs of airflow you will need.
oh okay cool beans sounds simple enough! :
we're going outta town for a few days so we'll get about the exhaust/filter system late next week, hopefully the "repotted" plant comes back to life by then, and we'll get rid of that foil tomorrow! and put another small PC fan in for air flow and "plants in the wind" keep you guys posted on these poor little things, thanks for the help and pointing us in the right direction xD muchly need, peace!
