Please help...stunted growth

Hey everyone...I just wanted to post a few pics and see if anyone has any thoughts as to whats going on. This is my 5th grow, and the other 4 were successful grows. I haven't changed anything as far as my setup is concerned, except this is the first Candy Kush...all of my previous grows have been Jock Horror.

This CK is 22 days old, and as you can tell by the images...she is wayyyy too small, and she also has some type of deficency i'm guessing.

I have plenty of ventilation in my grow closet, i'm using 4 26w cfls, though in the early stages she is mostly under just 2. I used OF soil with perlite 3:1. I do have a pen meter, and at last watering the run-off was at 6.5

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on my poor plant, please let me know. At this point i'm not sure if I should even continue with this grow..maybe I should scrap this one and start over...but until I can find where I went wrong, I don't see a point in starting up another one.....thanx in advance!

DanteW420. Many causes of stunting. The plants I stunted were always in soil in a five gallon container.

If the taproot doesn't get rolling the root system ends up dwarfed (so to speak).

Difficult to know for certain what might have caused your plant to react as it did. Compare and contrast this grow (watering, pot size etc.) and see if you can pin point the issue. Mine seem to have been associated with soil moisture and big pots and possible slight burn as seedlings.

For 22 days she is mature for her size. Will produce a small one stem bud. Might as well start another and just let the little one finish.

Thanks C. Grow...yeah I think i'm just gonna let her go and see what happens...I wont really be able to make comparisons with my next grow however, because I am changing the environment of my grow method.

On my next grow, I will be using Happy Frog with perlite in the center of the pot, where the seedling will be...then in concentric rings going out, I will have a section with Happy Frog and Ocean Forest 50/50 w/perlite...and finally at the outside just Ocean Forest and perlite.

Also I have read a few things about adding oxygen to my water...so I bought an aquarium pump and a bubbler stone to start charging my water.

Again...thanks for your help...I tell ya its frustrating after a few successful grows...I felt like I had it down pretty good..then I get this curveball

How old are your bulbs ? How big did the last ones get ? There's no need to get that fancy w/ the medium ... although I do like the idea of one or two horizontal layers ... I use anywhere from 25-50% Perlite depending on soil and grow ... your soil mix looks good, was it from the same bag as your last grow ... soil quality can fluctuate and too hot a soil can stunt ...

Hey Chester, the bulbs are about 8 months old. As far as the last ones..it varied...the smallest one was only 14" tall...and the tallest was 22"....they all produced between 1 and 1.5 zips. After I posted that, about my soil experiment, I am not so sure I want to do that...I was thinking that having different types of soil in different areas of the pot, may very easily give me false ph readings....I still might might mix happy frog with the Ocean Forest and perlite with a slight more Happy Frog concentration around ground zero

If you're talking 8 months at close to 24/7 they may be used up ... might want to ask in the Lighting section of the forum ... a zip to 1.5 zips is respectable although a Jock Horror is a taller plant than many ....

A stumble can be frustrating but recovering is where the lesson is learned ... I like to recommend to growers old and new to look at the grow journals here and choose a successful grower w/ equipment similar to theirs ... and copy them ... I recommend reviewing all of BayLee420's grows for anyone growing w/ CFLs in a confined space ...
