Grow Mediums Popping my grow cherry

Dropped 5 seeds into rockwool this evening, system will be a 4 bucket dwc system, but I figured I better toss a extra one in there in case of a failed germination. There sitting in the humidity dome under a cfl, I though I had grabbed one of the 4500k when I goofed and grabbed a 6500k. Tomorrow ill make the correction, one night won't mess it up.

Sounds good, 6500k is fine for seedlings, in fact that's what's the majority uses.

Mocking up the room now that I have the buckets light proofed, I found some old car sun screens in my garage, cut them up and wrapped around the buckets leaving the handles exposed for easier handling. Lights will be here later this week, no action from the rockwool yet but I'm too busy getting the ceiling eye bolts installed where the lights will hang. I forgot there's a ceiling fan in the room I'm using, had to make a last minute change when I realized the fan would hit the suspensions. I haven't decided what I'm going to use for reflective material for the walls and partition yet. Cardboard painted white?

use windshield reflectors from the dollar store remember the plants could get 3'across when planning your grow area.... also I'd get some small roller carts from harbor freight and put your buckets on them...you'll thank me later ..budluck!

Might not hurt to get some reflective nashua tape or aluminum duct tape and cover the tops of your netpot lids to reflect light (and heat) away from your reservoirs. Any little bit might help. Ive been looking into an experimental DWC myself.

Good thinking about the carts! I like the sight glasses u have on ur buckets, reminds me of the sight glasses on beer brewing kettles.

Yea I don't get why they don't color the Net pot lids white. I couldn't find any, they are all black. I got some krylon for plastic white spray paint I'm going to hit them with to reflect heat and light

Nice! I've heard talk of panda film but never looked into it. I live in a rural area so I have to do almost everything via Internet.
