Grow Room Pop's Grow Cabs

Oh, nice! Just stumbling upon good crosses.
Ill definitely be doing the same thing at some point. When ever I get another male. I need to back off buying seeds since my seed budget is small.

Im assuming the BD is a photo...and in a 15 gallon tote. That is going to be killer to watch. I bet that thing is going to be one hell of a big a$$ tree heh. :Growing::drool:

Yep! I bought my new tent so that I could have the 4'x4' space for photo periods. Going to SCROG that BD. My goal is for a 1 pound plant in an all organic grow. should be interesting at the least!

Well I have a dilemma. There is no way I can manifold this plant. its too HUGE! And the stalk, never seen one like this when this young! Dunno why this plant is so big. I've never had a plant this young and this big. I measured it today,6" tall. Ok, no big deal there. BUT.......she's 16 1/4" wide! My cab is only 19" wide! Is it hybrid vigor? My soil? ( can't be, same mix I've used for a year, fresh, organic potting soil, worm castings and Grow More soil builder ), My DIY lights ( yea right...lol ) or just the luck of a great cross? the original BBH that this was bred from, was a big, healthy girl, but nothing like this when young!

So here's the problem. what to do with it. I can't keep it in the cab much longer. Now, I have 3 Blue Dream seeds in a paper towel. the plan was to pick the best of the three, hope it was not a male...lol, and plant it in my 18 ( ? ) gallon tote. Now I'm thinking maybe put them in 3-5 gallon pots and put the DD x BBH in the tote as it sure looks like a candidate for a 1 pound plant!

The transplant will be tricky, because of it being in that turkey pan. I figure trying to get it into a 5 gallon pot might stunt it, don't want that! So that leaves the tote. I figure I could transplant like this:

make a depression in the soil on the tote, The size and depth of the pan. Place the pan in the depression. cut the pan with a razor knife and pull it out from under the plant. Yikes! well, we'll see. I can't do anything until i chop the durrty Cheese thats about finished in the growroom as I don't want the new plant on 12/12 yet!

Looks like "yesterdays chinese dragon" pops

Either way ... I'm now subbed up for some shallow pot fimming action! :D
If you can grow a plant in a shot glass .. i think you'll do fine in an old rice container hehe .... or was it chow mein *drooools*

Wow, you got some courage attempting to transplant like that. Id be to chicken myself to do it. Somehow Id find a way to send it to the grave lol.

You know, they are much tougher than people give them credit for. I handle seedlings all the time, even by the tap root, I've yet to have one fail because of it. Transplanting non-autos is a matter of not damaging too many roots. And hey, Stunted cut a plant in half down the midlle and it still grew and flowered!!!

pop I've read of soil growers just cutting of the bottoms of their first grow containers and setting them onto another container of soil. I'll bet you that plant is so wide because your soil is so shallow. Plants are fascinating. Keep up the good work!

Update:

I sucessfully tranplanted this to a 10 gallon tote of about the same width and length. I filled the tote 3/4 full of soil then set the pan in. I lifted one side and cut half way around the middle with a razor knife, then cut from the other side. I loosened the soil a bit then slid each half of the pan, out from under the plant. Hardly any soil/roots were disturbed. The plant is now in the growroom under one, 300 watt Mars Hydro old style light for veg. I may move some of the damaged plants from the new tent, into this cab to finish. I don't want to waste them, but they are damaged badly enough that the yield is going to be pathetic really, I expect I'll be lucky to get a zip from 4 plants. All because of bad water.............

Here's the DDxBBH in its new home:
