Grow Mediums Preparing for an Alien RDWC invasion...

haha... because this, my friend, is the small system for my little tent :stylez rasta smoke: Like a little mean star wars tie-fighter...

The "Millenium Falcon" will land in my big tent (current AWW diary) in a couple of weeks...

Basically, double the trouble :Stones slap:

(still at 23ºC without frozen bottles yay!!)

Just got home, so thats about err... 12h since I removed the frozen bottles from the head pot. Went back up to 24C, so kind of a lost battle if you account for drop in ambient temp... Still only have one GN Ms006 LED going... I only ever managed to get around 1.5L of frozen water at any given time due to space and re-freeze cycles.

The good new is I called up a buddy that does camping a lot and he lent me a few kick-ass thermal-acumulators/freezer pack. Will give them a shot, but first they're being disinfected in 17% H202, then freeze, so probably tomorrow if they're all frozen up

Conquering 1 full degree a day!!

Plans for today... Fire up a second GN Ms006 LED, add an extra layer of insulation, keep monitoring... I am still wondering if, even with so much moisture and and water dripping off the net pot every time I lift, should I raise the water level to actually touch the netpot? They are growing, but I am a bit ... anxious... to see roots shooting out. Only 1 is showing a little tail... pics following...

On the other hand, the one left out in the propagator is exhibiting massive root growth.

This is Day 4 I think...

I'm actually becoming quite fond of this one...

First root to peep out the net

Left the slowest starter neglected, and has turned out to be the faster growing roots. Go figure... I could still swap them out I guess, question is is if its worth it ?

By the way, I sincerely do NOT recommend this propagator to anyone. I han a bad time getting them out, needing to squish in the sponge for it to slide out. I actually thought I may had crippled the rootlings, 'cos I would have expected much more roots to have shown already... or am I being overly anxious?

EC is 1.1 which some might think is too much, but I do add 0.25ml of cal mag, A&B, no cannazym for now but strong Rhizo which forces use of extra phosphoric acid, which in turn gets stabilized with either a ittle more experience... *cof cof* ... or adding back liquid silicon as pH(+).

Feeding EC should really be around 0.8. In any case, I've prepped a 2L bottle to top feed 3x a day with strict 0.8 feed and strong rhizo.

pH 5.4
H20-21C
Ambient 28C
RH 45%

Looking pretty good indeed Groff :) I'm having similar temperature problems, mine is right at the upper threshold between 'comfortable' and 'uncomfortable'. About 23 degrees Celcius, gonna have to get some insulation going for my bucket too :)

Gonna subscribe to this, I wanna see how our plants turn out seeing as we're both on the exact same day :)

Might I also suggest upping the pH from 5.4 to about 5.6-5.8? Apparently 5.4 is a little on the low side :)

Hey Billy, where are you located? It would de double freaky coincidental if we lived in the same latitude haha... I live in Southern Europe, latitude 41 North, how about you?

Targeting 5.5 but got 5.4. Rather have it a tad lower the perfect than adding more stuff. Still getting a hang of prepping 200L at a time.
And any more than this I would prefer to dump it and reboot.

Rootling love more acidic enviros, next rez change I'm going for 5.6-5.7, then when the stretch phase hits, I'll up to 5.8

Well, that's the preliminary plan!

Triple insulation done. Been able to keep water around 21ºC, except when I'm off to sleep. Wont be long before a proper chiller is installed though. Anyone want some free space-cloth?

In this little bucket I've decided sacrifice the "left-over" girl for a little experiment. I'm going to grow her out, no matter what, using Canna Coco nutes
shock.gif

We had a sudden unannounced gravitational shift during transplant, so please excuse this next one

And very gently placed here... You cant really see in the pics, but the first set burnt up just like cal mag. I did nothing to fix because the others weren't complaining at all. She was in that black root riot propagator, so my only reasoning is high temps locking nutes. Started changing rez every day (dump into system and fill up with fresh mix) and it got fixed straight away. That's what made me go out and find a little "DWC" bucket at the local supermarket, so I ended up eating 5 million popcorns in a night so I could get this bucket ready asap

Still on the same Canna Aqua feed as the rest, but next rez change I'll start the coco nutes. Dont expect much, just for fun.

Here is the main attraction...

lost top side pic of 3 sorry, only rooots

Here is our little mutant friend. Mutation is the driving force of natural selection, and boy do these roots look promising!

I'll give it another week before a rez change. I'm ordering a chiller soon so I'm putting it off until after that.

Cant see any of your pictures on this page at all dude. But i can see them on the other pages.
