Live Stoner Chat Public Video Camera's

What's goin on, figured I'd try to put together a sentence and chime in.
I look at it in both ways really, I see how it has the potential to do good, even though it may not stop a crime in the act (just yet) it may lead to an arrest getting that person off the streets (rarely happens where I'm from)
Then again, I live in the states and everyone knows how we are with spying on the people and abusing power, so giving them more tools to invade my privacy actually worries me.

I feel it's a massive breach of my human rights.

The UK is scrapping the current car tax system in favor of number plate recognition, basically more cameras filming your every move..

Guess my question would be... Who is watching the watchers?

:twist:If they make pizza illegal then I would be pissed, and let them put a camera in my house and once they saw me and the wife having sex they would take the camera away fast.:roflcry:

I was in rotterdam a few years ago with work and we were in the town centre (there were 6 guys and my bosses girlfriend) and she had real bad menstrual cramps and collapsed on the ground.. the police were there within 20 seconds (i shit you not!) And said the cctv operators tipped them off thre was a young girl prone surrounded by guys... obviously the got the wrong end of the stick but the police were very nice and helpfull and it could easily have been something else going on, in which case she would have been saved. I know theres a lot of split opinions on the subject, and it's a shame it's deemed necessary for society to need to be monitored for safety.... and im sure the whole system gets abused sometimes but at least im aware of it.. it is certainly a difficult one.

They haven't checked paper discs for several year and have been doing number plate recognition instead.
They just never told us. I don't own a car but do have a bicycle, don't think the can recognise me with one finger held aloft, disapearing off into the distance, lol.
I can also go where other vehicals cant and where there are no cameras should the need arise.

Technology is to the point its inevitable before cities here in the us will be 100% on cam, and I dont mind. Its a slippery slope though and it wont be long until its intrudeing into our personal homes. Also, as our country becomes more of a police state, the restrictions on the common man to record in public will become heavier. Many of the aerial shots you see with the remote control helicopters and planes were taken illegally because of various bans and such they have on those. Also many places have made it illegal to film police officers if it is "impeding" an investigation and can confiscate your phone without a warrent. I just worry that they will start useing them against us as a whole instead of helping deter crime and catch criminals. Also, respectfully, I dont agree with "law abiding people have nothing to worry about." How law abiding is everyone? Look at your state laws, its scary. Example, my wife and I are not legally married because I dont want to record it on the principle that the government has no business in marriage and back up my argument with our constitution that all powers not granted to the federal government by the constitution is therefore delegated to the states. We can be arrested because where I live it is illegal for a man and woman to live together unwed for a certain amount of time and we are way past the alotted time lol. They dont enforce it, but its a law like many others, that if they need to the can start rounding folks up. Growing up leo was different than it is now. As a kid I was into the 80's hardcore punk alot and dressed the part and walked everywhere looking like a hooligan and never had problems with leo. Fast foward an ole lady and couple kids later and I cant walk my neiborhood without a leo stopping and questioning me about where im going and everytime they run my id. A good buddy of mine who is a retired state trooper and detective (he knows not of my hobby lol) had the best argument ive heard regarding the past and present leos. He said that cops dont have to work or think anymore, they use tecnology as a dragnet until they find someone doing something wrong and fill our prisons while the actual real criminals avoid these dragnets and are not even noticed. Im blabing tomuch lol. Point i was trying to make is that although the cameras are a great tool, they can only be as good as the folks useing them and its up to us to keep them in check.

Sorry 1 more thing. I dont want to say ive been harrassed because of my race, but im not all white.......but im not all wong either roflmao sorry had to get that joke in there.

Where do you live where its illegal to live with a chick not being married, thats crazy.
