Indoor purified vs distilled water

on to the nutrients part
that is normal in alot to drop what is way low?
what kind of nutrients are u using?
how long do you wait till you read ph?
sounds like a very high caution containing source of nitrogen being used ?
may be some of the culprit in question

I'm thinking I may just use purified water throughout the whole grow BUT every 3 or 4 watering just give a good watering of distilled water to rid salts that are building.. any input on that?

What is wrong with your own tap water? Lets not complicate this issue so much or it will drive you nuts.I don't understand why you can't use your tap water. If for some reason you cant just go with distilled water that is close to neutral and adjust this if you have to.Lets just keep it simple and get on with your grow.

well my tap water usually comes out at about a ph of 8 and i heard you gotta let your tap sit, so i just thought buying gallon jugs of distilled or purified water was easier.

im not tryna complicate things for me, im just noticing with distilled water after adding nutes then adjusting to around 6.5 and watering with that is usually when the yellowing/ph issues start showing in my leaves. on the other hand, plants that have gotten nute feedings with purified water that is around 6.5 seem to look nice and lush :smokebuds:

when i say it drops way low for distilled i mean..

ill test some purified water with my liquid tester, it will read in the green about 7. then after adding lets say 1/4 tsp of grow big to a gallon jug it will still read in the green around 6.8. (Clearly still over 6.5)

When i add the same amount of grow big to a gallon jug of distilled it will turn orange and read around 5! thats what i mean by it drops way low.

as for nutes im using the fox farms trio.

i wait awhile to read the ph, ill let it sit for awhile to make sure im getting an accuate reading.

i purchased a reverse osmosis system the other day just gotta install it. my city water is very hard with ph of 8 or higher out the tap. we have chlorine, flouride, and other nasty stuff in my city water that i know my ladies dont like so i spent 130 on the R/o system. now i just gotta install it :help:

So what negative effects would I see if I used purified water the whole grow? :smokebuds:

You would have a cal-mag deficiency ... My current grow has been grown on purified water w/ cal-mag added ... very happy w/ the results ...

i thought the stuff in purified water such as calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium sulfate would cause buildup?

I'm a nobody newbie, BUT and this is (I hope VERY RARE) but some lady in our brand new neighborhood had to keep taking her kids to the doctor. To make a long story short it was discovered we actually have OIL and GAS residue in our frkn tap water. :jaw: If I were going to use tap water these days even just moving to a new place I would take it and have it checked. nominal fee where I live only like 10 bucks. Just putting it out there. U NEVER KNOW. The city is basing there defense on the fact the the EPA has/lists no minimum levels of unacceptable oil and gas in drinking water, so it must be O TAYYY. LMAO:clap:
