Best red I every caught was gulf side of Florida by citrus county area, west of Ocala right in the mangroves. Thing was 33" bro, had to through it back because it's outside of slot, this was about 5 years ago on my lady vacation to Florida. Love me some fresh reds and grouper! I caught that crappie in my photo for my name to the left. ....
 
Caught it on a shrimp, don't remember if it was dead or alive or what lol

Better post pics of them! U every go way out and just toss some chum and see what u get? Furthest I've been out is about 17 miles off coast
 
Nope... I wouldn't want to go that far out into the Gulf with a flats boat... Long way for help to come if you have problems.
