Have a crappy Holdall PH/Moisture/Light meter. The PH and Moisture functions suck, and the light readings are not in lumens.

Outside light pins the meter over 2000. On the shady side of plants, with no direct sun, they still get 2000.

Inside, with 400 watt bulbs, and mylar everywhere, get about 1000 at plants, and down to 50 in shaded areas.

Thinking about outdoors through growth, and early bud, then indoors.

What do the experts think???

Thank You!!!!

I wouldn't really recommend taking it in or out after it being in either...keeping it the same is best IMO, but if you were going to I would definitely do it the other way around than your plan...You want more light during budding, not vegging. So you could veg it inside under the 400, harden it off for a week and let it get blasted by the sun for some solid ass nugs. :D

Problem is neighbors!!! My current grow smells like heaven, and scrub it with carbon filter, and diffuse.

Could afford to throw more light at it during flowering, if first month and half was free. Have lived incredibly "green" for many years, and electric has tripled.

Thank You!!!!

The other major question, is quality, versus quantity. Is it better to have 2000 (whatevers, on my meter) for 10 hours a day, and lesser for 4 hours, or 1000 at tops, for 18 hours a day?

Thanks

2000 for 10 IMO...BUT, you gotta take into account outdoor stealth, insects, animals and all of that. Most of which isn't an issue inside. :D So hard to say..but if you're worried about neighbors at all. Just grow them out inside all the way. 400 watts is plenty of light for a good grow. :D
