Dear hydro growers,

Today I bought a fountain pump for outdoor ponds which also has an aquarium-style filter built into it. I am planning to use it in my hydro system (of course!). You can see an example of the filter media here:

I thought it would be a good idea because I plan to use Gardena micro-system nozzles to spray the nutrient solution and I don't want dead roots to clog them up.

My question is: does anybody know if the nutrients pass through these filters without any problem?

Any filtering media will eventually load up.
Those black filter shouldn't inhibit flow too much, just keep it rinsed.

this is the most commonly used filter for RDWC:

Again, the answer is yes to both.
But if you keep it rinsed regularly (daily or every other day maybe?) I can't imagine it lowering your nutrient value.
If you don't rinse it, it will slowly accumulate "crud" until it is all clogged up.
Just keep it rinsed and no problem
