Hello master farmers.
I am at day 40 doing a DWC 400 watt CMH grow. I was wondering what your opinion was on the current size of my bud. They look a little too small to me for this age, but this is my first HID grow with autos. Got ripped off by the LED scam and been trying grow after grow to get a piece of shit LED I bought to grow (kept growing shitty short plants with woody tasting buds). Anyways, the plants look OK height wise. Some small mutated leaves..

Phsycodelixx................just wondering about you CMH is that a multi spectrum envelope ?/ with a 400w you can put light down to around 14-18' from canopy..........they are ten days into flowering physco.........??.............ec 1.8? AB.........looking a very clean grow dudes..........little bita claw but, mint otherwise.................................how long you bin in DWC mode ??.................did you start with soil ??..................they say hydro for the pro soil for show ?/...........i think they look cool............"What Are The Strains" ??.............AB......................

I am using the phillips retro-white 400 watt 4000K ceramic metal halide. I attached a picture of the spectrum power distribution. Less lumens then HPS but more even curve and much higher power to most wavelengths (relative).
Autoflowers start showing around 15-20 days usually. As far as when they "officially" start to flower I have heard mixed things, some say when the stretch stops other say about day 25.
I have my light about 12 inches above. I have a chiller set to 66F so I can keep canopy temp a little higher then normal..
EC is about 1.8 (did you guess on that?? lol). I keep exact ppms for all my nutes, I don't just "dump and go." I change out half of my ten gallon reservoir about every 5 days. I found the plants grow so fast the nutrient solution quickly becomes misbalanced and using this method I have avoided a lot of pain and haven't had a leaf problem (aside from the slight claw).
I start straight DWC, and transfer them right into the buckets. Did 1 soil grow, and I just do not like how with soil you cannot have precise control over the root environment. I like to be able to see the roots too, it really helps i diagnosing problems.
These are joint doctor easy ryders.
Next grow I will be switching my nutrient to floranova bloom and calimagic. Right now I am using different nutes- in order to get the exact ppms of each element dialed in. But with floranova bloom I can get my micros/macros pretty much dialed and use calimagic for my calcium (I like to push 150ppm calcium because the current nutes I am using have a fuck ton of EDTA which competes for calcium)..
:peace:

strength will vary with each brand and strain

i would move the light up to 14" to be on the safer side

Good idea. The top leaves have been feeling a little drier and looking a little droopy. You know how it is though , its like an art lol. Up a tiny bit, down a tiny bit, feel the light on your palm to see if its hot, come back an hour later, adjust again lol.
