Today was also the first day of Winter and we got snow! Started just before dark so I got a few shots off before the sun went down. And in typical Cardinal Style they were here eating at dusk. So here's some snow and critter shots!

Small world. We were neighbors--now just a bit SW of S. LV. BLVD. However, three years ago, I lived closer to your place. Decatur goes all the way thru now--N to S and merges with SouthernH. Second part casino name changed to Point after being sold. You must have been that guy driving in circles one night chasing the coyote. :howdy: Got a notice the other day from frickin homeowners associations (two of the them)--one of the the biggest rip-offs of the hundreds here--it stated: Coyotes have been reported attacking and carrying off household pets from yards and are being sighted with more frequency.
If not the coyotes it is the big ground squirrels. They can scale a five foot cinder block fence within a second. And like the garden.

LOL that's crazy bro! yeah now you mention it I left just after it was changed to Point. I moved in Jan '08. I can't remember the name of the development LMAO many brain cells ago and I'm ripped at the moment (imagine that LOL) but you literally look out my guest bedroom and there was the strip. But DUDE I don't miss homeowner's assoc!! What pissed me off the most about them is most the time (well mine was) run from OUT OF TOWN!!! you'd be sending $150 to San Diego or some shit. Yeah there are a lot of scams living there! Everyone's got their hand out... Screw two of them!!! Yeah man when I got the house I had it built so all the area then was "untouched" and coyotes, them whip tailed scorpions or sun spiders... they were everywhere! Not to mention the Desert Hares... You know what it's like driving from LV to like Pahrump dodging rabbits the whole way! Well, not rabbits.. they are HARES. JACKALOPE!!! AHH!!! LMAO!!
I don't recall the ground squirrels being so large but 5 years is a long time away and LV changes so much month after month hard to keep up!

damn birds here eat the cat food (poultry blend so i guess that makes them cannibals) that i put out for my outdoor cat and when that runs out they eat the dog food when that's gone is when they eat the bird seed

I never got up to Northern Nevada but the Lady and I plan on doing another Death Valley trip... possibly in 2013 sometime. So I wanna get up to Virginia City/Reno/Lake Tahoe and hit up the Redwoods before they are gone! When I lived in Vegas I was working 24-7... I worked 4 months straight one year with no days/nights off... So I was lucky enough to get out of the damn city limits!!! But, you gotta get the income when you can!!
I know man! If we put cat food out for the cats they eat that shit up! So our cats eat inside... But, they got plenty of shit to eat. I put out Scratch Grain for the Turks, Deer, and Squirrels. Also the Possums and resident Skunk at night LOL we got a day and night crew here! LMAO! So we put bird seed out front and feed the Turks and company in the back and everyone's happy!
Except when the Blue Jays and Mourning Doves come in... aye they eat EVERYTHING! And don't let the others eat! Bro, no shit... one day Weeg was sleeping out on the sidewalk sunning himself... and I watched a Titmouse fly down and pull some of his hair out and take off with it! LMAO! That is "Mrs. Napoleon". As we have a Napoleon (her mate). Everytime we put seed out he flys in and puffs his chest out and flares his wings at the other birds. Like "get away from my shit!" So I named him Napoleon a few yrs back LOL that's his mate. I know this because of certain markings on them... We have one other pair that only come in a few times a week. And if Napoleon sees they he takes off after them. He's very comical to watch and listen too. He talks shit to me if I go out side and he hasn't had fresh seed that day. Fly back and forth over my head just to get my attention. It's crazy! He's so damn quick though I always try to get a pic of him and soon as I focus he f*cks off. I'll get him one day! I know what you mean! The cats always sit by the windows and make these weird undertone noises and jump up and smack the glass. LOL It is very entertaining! I gotta watch that spirit science channel! I seriously need to make butter!!! That oil sounds insane bro! Bet you're nice and baked!!
