Lighting Relearning- Trying to Modifying/Upgrade Lights - Looking for Guidance.

The citizen 1212s do the job very well indeed and are cheap as chips mate. Extensively proven on here. Gen 6 are the current ones.

1216s are the new version and a bit more punch. Don't think they are much more expensive. Would probably try those if I was building a light now.

Alright so 4x Citizen 1216s with a Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400B. How does that sound?

The first time I built my lights there was someone who had a calculator to determine was size heatsink you would need depending on if you did active or passive cooling. Would you happen to have something like this? I'd like to set them up on one heatsink like I have my other lights. I don't want a bunch of individual heatsinks.

I built a setup with 4 citizen clu 048 1212s (3500k), and a meanwell driver. hlg 185H 1400A 36V 200W. There are some good deals to be had, just pay attention...have heard of some unscrupulous sales on ebay

That driver is actually 144 volts mate, not 36.

And in all honesty, I have bought ALL my cob components off eBay and never had a single issue. To me eBay is no different to shops: some sellers/shops are great, some are dodgy bastards. Do your homework and you will be fine.

Lookup "growmau5 sizing cob heatsinks" or similar on youtube mate, there are some good resources available. I use individual heatsinks and a frame as I prefer this set up.
