It appears I did not do all my homework. In preparation for a hydro. bubble type grow I recall no mention of mold hazards.

Well, after five days each rock wool cube is spotted with what looks like bright white powered sugar. Extensively spread on top and sides in different spots.

I have had a low RH problem with high temps. Though the plants look ok.

A few minutes ago, I found a sealed bag with what looks like black barriers for the top of buckets. They are the size of the rock wool cubes.

The plants are just about a week old. The rock wool was preped up per the manufactures rinse etc. procedure.

Could be a scrub for these. Is there a treatment or any corrective action I can take.

Such a simple deal. Frustrated that manufacture etc. did not red flag this kind of problem.

Thanks for input.

Update. Did some research. Who knows what it is. Maybe powdery mildew. Put the covers on white side up. Plants look good. Will use a neem spray on surface areas around rock wool and hydron. Not going to worry about it.

...Hmmm, this sounds familiar brother CG!... in my orchid pots!! LOL! The bark sometimes gets this fungus that looks like a cross between styro-balls and cottage chz.,... not outright harmful, but a nuisance for sure in hydro... I don't know if it's an actual danger to the young plants though... alas, the solutions I have in mind involve no-no things for MJ, or seedlings... well, maybe a sulphur based spray? or Copper?... shit! it'll just get rinsed away likely... Knock on some Sensei-class doors directly, CG, whoever's around tonight.... :Stones slap: wish I could be more helpful!
