Old Reviews Roots Organic Soil

Roots is great stuff. I have been using it exclusively for a while now and haven't had any issues with it. Always delicious, crystal covered flowers.

I've just completed a grow with Roots Organics soil after using Fox Farms OF and HF for 3 grows. The Roots grow was just smooth all the way, no drama. I added some additional perlite, maybe 20%, even though the soil has a fair amount. I also added 1.5 T of pulverized garden lime per gallon soil. I think the lime is a good idea but in the grow I just started I reduced the amount of lime to 1 T per gallon.

What nutes are people using with this soil?? (I had leftover FF trio but want to go all organic)

It comes fluffy enough out of the bag for my preference. The only time I add perlite is if I add earthworm castings. Like Bayes said, 1 Tbs of lime per gallon couldn't hurt, but I have used it many times without lime just fine. As for nutes it's really all down to personal preference.

BayLee,

Man we think alike. After the "problems" I had with my Blue Mystics in straight Happy Frog and now with my new BM, Ultra lemon Haze, Cherry Bomb and Pink Grapefruit already seeing the same issues I have been looking for other soil options and was looking over the Roots Organic Soil. I am going to do a little experiment with the Happy Frog I have left to try and cool it down some as it seems to be a little to hot. So I have started a couple seeds with 50% Perlite and 50% Happy Frog.

Looking forward to your next grow with the Roots Organic product. What are you popping this time?

Roots is great, I quit using FoxFarm. My plants were always less happy than with roots soil. I mix roots 50/50 with bio-bizz light. So far I'm super impressed. I found there is no need to add perlite to roots. It comes pretty packed with the stuff. The roots seemed to be a little hot by its self. With the addition of Biobizz light, my plants have never been happier. This is my second round doing it like that and I do not think I will change it any. I use the full roots organic line of nutes as well.

AFN Growers Come Through Again

Many thanks to all for responding.

Roots Organic it is.

Just waiting for my IT aka Nirvana Freebie Bean to show it's sex and then it's Roots organic.

The soils I've used have been:

Black Gold (outdoor grows had issues from the start)
Happy Frog (1st indoor micro grow, a bit too warm, issues with pH)
Coco Loco (of the lot it was the best, but grew Swiss Cheese and Northern Lights that are know to be very easy to grow)

Roots Organic is on the menu now.

Many thanks.

That's a first for me to Max Slap everyone. My hand is still stinging.

Note: (Has nothing to do with above post)
Still planning on doing a Mephisto The Blues grow as soon as I use up the beans I have. I want a Mephisto sticker. Grow better genetics gets better buds.
