Indoor Savoy's Grow Lab

I started 6 beans today for my inaugural grow in the new digs, also this thread will be ongoing for all future grows.

I am extremely excited about this one. I'm attempting a mulligan on my last grow with 4 Purple Mazars, and 2 White Sirus. Im making a depature from OF and switcing to Sunshine #4. I tried to get advanced nutes but my hydro shop doesn't have them so I re-upped the ff trio (It occured to me my hand me down trio was 5 years old) Also this will be a constant grow, I've only ever done a few plants at a time start to finish so hopefully I can keep up. The way I've worked it out is by looking at my space as 4 stages: seedling, veg, preflower/stretch, flower. So assuming 12 weeks start to finish means I should start seeds every 3 weeks, and every 3 weeks there should be a group to chop. If anyone has constant grow advice they wanna share that would be awesome.

I'm happy to report that despite my crap results last time I did get a bunch of White Sirus seeds that are still cooking. It was lucky to get a straight up male when the ws were all supposed to be femmed. I also pollinated a pm with the ws pollen so that will be fun to see what happens with those down the road.



Anyhow this is getting long winded. I'll post pics when I get meaningful growth.

I'm trying out my album for posting pics, been using PB until now. I put together a revised trio + Cal Mag feed schedule with reduced amounts for autos. I know feeding has more to do with specific plant needs at the time than a set schedule, but I thought this would be a nice framework, tell me what you think of it. Plus I'm a little nervous about doing a constant grow. At full speed I'll have 6 flowering, 4 pre-flowering, and a dozen or so seedlings/unsexed plants going at once so I'm trying to get my strategy together before it gets crazy. I'm also getting a day planner and color coded labels too.

BTW saw a sprout popping its head out today!
AND I got 30 plus White Sirus seeds from my last grow, the mother was very short, but it was probably due to many errors during the grow.

Spent the day working the bugs out of the new grow closet, hard points for hanging the ventilation, sealing the door, and working out a hidden latch. AND... My new 400 Cfm inline fan came!! Jeez it is powerful. It sucks the door tight, and when the intake baffle is closed the walls compress, also sounds like a jet engine. I can't wait for the speed control to get here to quiet that momma down.

So, at full power (400w hps, 90w led, ballast, fans in 30 cf) it's 86f, outside is 80f I was hoping for high 70's and that's without a carbon filter and at full cfm's. I even have my water supply under the intake vent to maybe cool a little. Guess I'll see what's what when my can 33 and switch get here. Being full of plants will prob drop it down a little too.

I'm bored waiting for these seeds to pop already. 5 days and only one of 6 to sprout. I did a little light excavating this morning and saw one of the white Sirus' working up. I did the 24 hours in a shot glass of water, then straight to dirt. I've done the paper towel thing in the past but it stresses me out, so it's as nature intended this way.


I saw somewhere stitch recommends misting seedlings a couple times daily till they get their first set so I'm doing that, and I hit the seed sites with a couple squirts in case they dried out too much to germ. I have a good idea for a photography project for this grow, not telling what it is in case it doesn't work out, but will be neat if it does.

And I've over-looked my usual vitals rundown for science so here it is:

20 plant constant grow starting with six and new ones added every three weeks or so.
4 purple Mazars
2 White Sirus
90 watt blue spectrum LED UFO style for veg 2x2x2
450 watt hps for flower
400 Cfm inline fan
Can 33 scrubber
Bubbling water
Fox farms trio and cal mag
Sunshine # 4
1 liter soda bottles until sexed
2 gallon pots
All in a 2x6 footprint with about 3 feet for plant height.
