When using a 'handheld' scope, which part of the plant will give me the most accurate overall account of it's ripeness?

Thanx...I've looked everywhere...it never sez
 
Any kind of scope you use doesn't really matter as long as you can see the trichomes clearly... it's not really one certain spot I would say... your upper colas and parts exposed to light ALL THE TIME.... will mature first. Then the wiser and shaded undergrowth and bottoms of colas next. For this reason some folks do a staggered harvest and take the tops of the plants first and work there way done as more of them amber up....
