Mephisto Genetics Second Grow, First Journal, Cobs + Mephisto!

If Im doing the calc right, 15 x 55 / 45 = 18.3, you are running fairly low light intensity in there. How was your flower density? Did you try to calculate grams/watt?

Have you seen my 11 watts per square foot grow? 20 is on the upper end for autos in my opinion. These are autos not photos and its really all about the daily light integral.

Ive probably seen it but not sure I paid attention to the w/sq, sometimes I just browse pictures. Ill check it out and pay more attention, whats it titled?

Pretty much all of my grows are below 20w per square foot. BigSm0 and the cob addiction is my current grow at 11 watts per square foot. Basically (dli) is the amount of light multiplied by the hours per day. Autos running up to 24 hours a day is twice the hours of photos which run 12 hours per day in flower.
Photos 12hours x50wpsf is the same as autos 24hoursx25wpsf. I basically stumbled across this when I used to see all my outer buds were in the best health, biggest and frostiest. Basically lived by more the better when it came to light. Later realized less was more, dli and the natural sensitivity of autos. The beauty is my electric bills less than half of what it was and my crops are all happy and full of amazing bud. I know people can run autos at high wattages and still do well, I just think it’s unnecessary and it’s much easier to control and manage. Sorry for the thread jack Sir Milo.

It’s all good my man, spread that knowledge far and wide.

I did not because I wasn’t worried about that honestly. This was my first grow in over fifteen years and a lot has changed. I found what I consider the best lights and the best breeder. I know the pictures weren’t the greatest but that can is the same size as a small red bull, left it there for perspective. Those three smaller plants totaled 8 ounces dry. I broke down the main colas and still had three buds that weighed in at over 15 grams apiece. It’s just under $70 a month to run all 15 lights 24hrs a day, I DID NOT RUN ALL OF THEM FOR THAT GROW. No scrog, not topped or fimmed, no super crop, just lst. I did difoliate after the third week. I didn’t pinch off the leaves either, I trimmed them repeatedly. I brought a friend out to see them the day before I harvested, he said in his twenty years he’s never seen buds so dense. He was skeptical of the lights and autoflowers but wanted to see what they ended up producing. He will be growing the same two strains under his two 600watt hps for comparison. After that I can safely say he will be ordering cobs from @BigSm0 and beans from @mephisto. Yep it’s long winded, sorry.

Nothing exciting so far. Two ended up damping off and i tried to get two more going but only one took. Now its going to be an eleven plant grow unfortunately. Hopefully these pictures aren't sideways like the last ones. First world problems. DAY 8 i believe.
