What’s up growers,

Newbie here starting my second grow. I’d like opinions on how my seedlings look and any advice on what I need to do if you see problems. All three were planted Sunday 4/3 within 12 hours of each other; Deelite and Blueberry Gusto #1 in the morning and B Gusto #2 that evening. The Deelite and Blueberry Gusto #1 broke through the soil Tuesday 4/5 and the second B Gusto Wednesday 4/6. I also have a Pineapple bean planted Monday 4/4 that hasn’t shown herself yet (should I be concerned?) These are all in 3 gallon pots with Fox Farm Ocean Forest with a solo cup sized plug of Happy Frog. 2x2x4 tent with Vivosun VS1000 LED at 25% power 24/0. RH is 68-70%. Temp 70 degrees. Any and all advice and suggestions appreciated.

Good rule of thumb is 78 deg daytime, 68 night. Plants looking good.

Great start. With 3 plants, it'll be simple to use one as a guinea pig to learn what works and what doesn't. Understanding Proper watering frequency is a must with a hot medium. Good luck.

Looks good. I like to use a light meter to gauge intensity. I use the photone app on iOS with a paper diffuser. I keep it under 15k lux for seedlings, 45k for veg, 85k for flower. FFOF tends to be a little hot for autos and you may notice some mild n-tox. You may not see it if you mixed it with happy frog.

I was three out of four. The Pineapple seed never showed herself. I just started germinating another one yesterday.

I use the same app but I use PPFD. 15k lux would be about 385 umol/s/m2 correct? I’m at about 200. I didn’t have any problems with the Ocean Forest on my first grow but after reading a lot of comments on how hot it is, I left a solo cup size hole in the middle that I filled with Happy Frog. That should give them a little cushion before their roots reach the Ocean Forest.

Rookie here who’s been all about experimenting. Best for me has been soaking seeds 24hrs in distilled water then in soil and kept an average of 75 deg 75 humidity. 7 outta 7 sprouted in about 60hours. Also finding it doesn’t matter what my light is doing or where seeds sit in tent as long as my photone app shows anywhere from 200-450 ppfd. I have 2 plants in the middle starting flower at 80% on a 630w about 32” from canopy and sprouts on sides are about 45”. Everybodys happy inside. Put 4 straight outside after soaking and they popped together at about 70 hours. They’ll stay outside entire life in small pots as pure experiments. I use 70/30 HF/OF mix (if I don’t have goldfish or fish heads to put near the bottom I put just OF for bottom few inches) along with pwdered nutes (Down To Earth) layered up and topped with red worms. All I do is water. Hardy freakin plants man, subject each one to slightly diff light and/or nutes and just see what happens.
